Tried VLC (only gave audio), tried online converters (didn't work), tried downloading programs (all either had watermarks, limitations or didn't work), tried this and it's perfect, thank you
This is what you should *always* try first, when you are forced to use another container format than MKV. Remember that only a few video editing tools offers this option (Handbrake doesn't). In most cases, you can simply copy the video stream like it's shown here. Sometimes you will need to convert the audio, because MP4 can't handle high quality audio formats like DTS or AC3 properly. Regarding conversion (the last part of the video): Instead of setting an Average bitrate (15000 kbps sound like a lot, unless it's Blu-ray video in full HD), you could also try using the Constant quality setting. Try with the default setting 20 on a small part of the video first. If it's too bad, lower the setting to 18. You can also set it to a higher value like 24, if size matters more than quality.
i just want to say i have been searching for a way to do this for more than about 5 hours now. I have run into so many issues and this is finally worked. Thank you so much, i really appreciate it. Safe to say i will NEVER you the mkv file format when recording in obs ever again.
Good video. Two important things: 1) Vegas has added support for the MKV container during the summer of 2019 (while Adobe for some obscure reason they don't want to explain removed their MKV support from Premiere in May) 2) Pay attention to the codec information in the white list view on the Main tab at 0:28. The video (and audio) codecs need to be supported by your editing software. If it isn't supported (for example if the video type is H.265 HEVC or VP9 and not H.264 as in this example), then you have to use the Convert option instead of the Copy option on the Video and Audio tabs. Of course, if one of the codecs is supported, you only need to convert the type that isn't supported.
- use the original mkv (if you still have it), - convert the mp4 losslessly to mkv (you can use VLC player also), - install a better graphics card (if that's a Desktop PC)
How to rotate video first for 7 degrees and then crop black triangles? Xmedia use Crop filter first, before rotate filter. Xmedia can't change filter place in list.
And finally the war between me and mkv files are over. Even though some converted files are not compatible in Premier Pro, still this software is by far the best. Thanks!
It's LEGIT. AND IT WORKED THANKS A LOT. THERE IS EVEN NO WATERMARK. I WAS LOOKING FOR A SOFTWARE THAT WAS DOING THIS PROCESS WITH NO WATERMARK. SO THANKS, A LOT 😀😀
*@Furulevi, thank you for your channel, sir!* May I ask you one question? I have a VP9 video (It's a mkv file that I downloaded from youtube) and it seems like XMedia Recode can't properly "copy" it to MP4. The result won't work in video players (only audio) and can't be opened by "After Effects CC 2018" or "Vegas Pro 15" programs. *Can you, please, help and tell me what to do? How can I turn VP9 MKV file into PROPERLY WORKING MP4? (preferably, lossless)* * Maybe I'm missing some kind of video codec? * Or it's just something wrong with VP9 itself? * Or the downloading program I used (4kVideoDownloader) somehow screwed up the file? Halp, plz, I have no idea of what to do next :V
Better reconvert that video to MP4, or download it directly as MP4 instead of MKV, I know that will lower the quality, but VP9 is not really supported yet.
I have a problem with this app, after a year of converting it just stopped working. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing it again but it won't convert anymore. Please help.
I did everything in this video and it worked! but there is one problem... The file is normal and perfect when i open it but when i put it into Sony Vegas Pro 13 the MP4 file has no video and i hear a very loud peeping sound. Can u help me?
In XMEDIA at 2:07, instead of Copy select Convert. The quality will be somewhat lower (use a decent bitrate, at least 10mbps or higher) but Vegas should read the video file.
Bro, thanks a million for this tutorial! I'm pretty skeptic about tutorials which feature obscure programs I've never used before, and I honestly expected viruses or options being locked behind a paywall, but... no, this program is actually pretty damn good. Helped me convert flv. files from OBS to mp4 for sony vegas editing with no problem at all.
Than it means that the subtitle was a separate file and it wasn't hardcoded into the video... while watching the new video open the old subtitle with your video player.
Thanks a lot for this video, VLC would keep giving me stuttering video when I converted using the copy method. And when I used H264 + MP3 (MP4), Vegas didn't recognise the video. This method worked best, and didn't significantly increase the size of the video file either. Edit: Also, no watermark so far, and no time limit.
Is there a method as simple for dummies as this, that will keep Dolby vioion and ATMOS intact? Or at least,is there a video on how to do it? I am too thick to read tutorials and get it

if you are recompressing it to another format than make sure to specify a decent bitrate, shown at 2:16, use at least 10 megabits (or higher!) the 1500 shown in the video is 1.5megabits only.
There are many video converters that are available on the internet. However, you need to look at the frame rates, bit rates, resolution, formats, video lengths etc. to come to the conclusion which is the best. You can try the wondershare video converter and you will find that it stands good on each behalf, the facts mentioned above.
