Palak Dal: lentils cooked with Spinach
Boil Dal with the following :
Toor Dal (Split Pigeon Peas): 1 cup
Tomato: 100 g or 1 small
Turmeric Powder: ½ tsp
Cloves (Laung): 3
In another pot, cook the following:
Spinach Leaves (Palak): 1 bunch, chopped
Tomatoes: 2 small or 200 grams
Onions: 2 medium or 250 gms
Green Chillies: 2 whole
Cilantro or Coriander Leaves: ½ cup
Garlic: 2 bulbs or 85 gms
Ginger, 25 g
Red Chilly Powder: ½ tsp
Salt as per taste (I have used a total of approximately 2 tsp)
Turmeric Powder (Haldi): ½ tsp
Corainder Powder (Dhania): ½ tsp
Roasted Cumin Powder (Zeera): ½ tsp
Asafoetida (Hing): ¼ tsp
Ghee
Tempering
Ghee: 2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds (Rai): 1 ½ tsp
Whole Red Chillies: 4
