One day when I eventually install my drawer fridges, that’ll mean I can have permanent bench space above those fridges and I won’t have to move things to access the fridge! However, it’ll also mean I lose my fridge-top seating. Swings and roundabouts, I guess.
Those noodles looks so good! One of my go to meals is very similar, only difference really is that I roast and season my vegies instead. Easy, and delicious! Great choice in knife too, the opinels are great for camping. Very easy to sharpen. I think I own about 5 (of various sizes) now haha. By the way, I love your outfit! Especially the tshirt 😀
Thanks for all the compliments! The t-shirt is op-shopped (and won’t last much longer because it developed rather large holes under one armpit) as are the jeans, but the colourful patch on the jeans is mine (knee and back pocket). Those noodles are very much one of our regular meals that we have at home. Easy, relatively fast, and yum!
Oh! And yeah, I love my Opinel knives! I got Alexis a ‘My First Opinel’ as a present a couple of years ago, and when I saw how great they were, I decided I’d get the picnic set for myself late last year. It was only when I was editing this video that I remembered I should’ve used the Opinel peeler that came with it! I totally forgot about it because it’s been so long since we’ve been camping, that this was the first full meal I’ve used the knives for. And it was only a ‘pretend’ camp. *sigh* I really want to get out camping again as soon as possible.
Excellent cooking demo! I trust Ollie, your 4 legged family member stays clear of the open flame? And I noticed you had your hair tied back so, I assume, it wouldn't catch on fire. Being retired and darn sick of the cold, I chase the nice weather year-round and cook outside.
Even if I’m in a place that’s warm, though, some of them have wet (rainy) summers, plus mosquitoes, so I generally avoid cooking outside. If I was able to set up a kitchen in my van that was accessible inside AND outside, now I reckon I’d be onto a winner. And yeah, Ollie isn’t keen on being anywhere near the flame.
It is! I was initially hesitant about collapsible cooking containers (as opposed to other collapsible containers like storage, strainers, dish racks, etc), but they seem to be working okay, if the availability of them is anything to go by. And I trust the quality of Sea to Summit.
I ended buying the same as yours on sale for $50.. I won’t get to use it for awhile as I’m travelling around Tassie and it’s sitting at my sons home in Queensland.. Actually Toowoomba, my home town not far from you.. Wishing you all the best.. Be kind to yourself and take whatever time you need..
