This is really useful Thomas and easy to understand (for a beginner - who also lost money trying to do it themselves!) - Working from the UK I have to invest a minimum of £712 into the account and each trader I copy needs a minimum of $200, so can copy about 4 traders. I saw your video about going for the long run and keeping the trades at a low risk - but what should I put my stop loss at? - I obviously want to stop copying as soon as they start to lose money (on the scenario that what goes up must come down) - but where should I put a stop loss to allow a trade to recover if it suddenly does drop and the trader is still trading it in the hope it comes back up?
Hi Tom. I have a question. I started a copy with 1000usd. All good, but when i go to check the portfolio (of that particular copy) at the end of the "invested" column the "total open" indicates like 400usd, and the "total closed" is 0. Are the other 600usd not invested? Thank you.

Help me understand. If I copy someone for 100$, does it mean that those 100$ are proportionally divided between his investments? Maybe he invests 1000$, but the proportions are the same, right?
Hello, I have a question. I am new to etoro and I decided to copy a trader like 2 days ago but when I look at my profits/losses it keeps showing 0%. My balance stays the same and nothing is changing. Did I do something wrong or do I need to wait longer in order to see profits/losses?
Great video series. I've just started out on etoro and didn't really know what stop loss meant so thanks for explaining that in your other video. Also good editing of these videos. SO my question is simple. Does eToro charge an annual fee for using either the Copy People of Copy Funds features? I know you mentioned it's free towards the end of your video, but I don't see how eToro make any money from that? There must be some annual fee you either pay the person you copy or eToro right? Have you had to pay any fees so far? I couldn't find any information on their site about it.

What’s the trader’s interest in letting you copy them? With such an expertise they can have a better price with private brokers or open their own consulting firm . Just wondering. Thanks

Hi there Roby - nope, you can't see the actual amount they have invested in the site. To me, the only thing which is important really is their profit or loss historically - as long as I know that percentage, I know whether they're generally doing a good job or not. fair enough, thanks for the reply !.... I understand that the most important info is the split of the trader investment on the different items and even more the historical profit/loss. Hi there, and thanks - the account verification process starts when you upload all the necessary documents (as far as I know) - did they ask you for all of the documents when you signed up? I know it can take 4 or 5 days to verify an account. Maybe more (once the documents are all uploaded)
When you copy someone it just copies their exact trades. when they open, you open, when they close, you close. If they use X1 leverage, so do you. If they use 3% of their total money on a trade, you'll use 3% of the money you copied them with on that trade.
I stopped copy trading so I can copy other people and the whole weekend it has stuck at pending close. How long does it take? When will it allow me to copy other people?
Hi there - it should have closed by today - sometimes, when you close a copy, there are assets in that person's portfolio which are only traded on certain exchanges. If those exchanges are closed when you close the copy, then those positions can't be closed, and Etoro has to wait until the relevant exchange opens, and the position can be closed - when all of the positions are closed, then the copy will have ended and all the relevant money returned to your available balance. This one catches a lot of people out :) It was probably because of the weekend and it was waiting until either London, or more likely New York opened today. Hope that helps.
I think it used to be $100 when I first joined but they've since increased it. I reckon it'll be a business decision, but you'd have to ask them really. To be honest, if you watch my 'copy trading minimum trade size' video, you'll see that although $200 is the official minimum, you sometimes need to copy traders with much more money if you want to get all of their future trades copied... Great series, they're so well made. I kinda started believing this is a paid sales job :-) but great run through all the same. I guess the fees are the same in virtual as real account? as closed with #GoodGoing and said no FEE. time to subscribe.
Nah, it's not a paid sales job :) and thanks. Yeah - the 'fees' you see there are probably accumulated overnight and weekend fees which you've incurred as the person you're copying has used leverage in their trades and therefore incurred those tiny but accumulative fees...
If the markets are open, it will open. If the markets are closed, it will automatically become an order which will open at the current market price when the relevant market opens.
It depends on the circumstances really... Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I did make a video about that, which has some info in it. My thought on this are constantly changing, so at the moment I'd say it depends totally on the trader and what they've currently got in their portfolio combined with current market conditions :) Not the simplest answer...

Hey there! Sorry for the late reply, sometimes I miss comments :) Sounds good with your son - I hope that goes really well... I'm not sure who that is in the background to be honest. I wanted to have a change of scenery so I drove to the other end of the island to this hotel called the Radisson (it's fancy and they do good scones there) and I just set up the camera in their lobby and started recording. Thankfully I think they just saw my weird set up and decided to leave me alone in case I was a guest and they saw i was talking to a camera :) It's a nice place though - I was recently an extra in a tv series that was shot there, and I can vouch for the quality of their buffet :)
two things are quiet suspicious about these people what we assume as Traders and copying from them. What's their interest in this, do they make any interest when people are copying them? and the other thing . They advertise that there are millions of users ( Traders) , but soon as you start apply some search filters you will end up with 10 20 people, isn't that weird :)
Yep. well, there's fees of different types - I made a playlist all about the fees. But to actually copy someone is free. I still think that's incredible too... This platform is scam, i opened a account but when market goes up or down you can’t close your position or you can’t open new position. Even they hiding sell-buy buttons. If you can try to close your position system not responding immediately and put your claim pending mode then after 5-10 min late they close your position when price goes down. Basically they made this platform to steal your money. If you don’t believe me go to etoro official Twitter page and see how many people fighting with them for take back their money.
