How to CORRECT and PROTECT your car paint ready for WINTER *Day In The Bay

Welcome to the Meguiars UK RU-vid Channel.
We're back with another Day in the Bay!
Today's Day in the Bay features this Honda Civic Type R. Lee does a great job of keeping his car maintained with regular washing but with winter coming up he wanted to know how best to prepare and protect his paint work by correcting it, removing any swirl marks and minor imperfections, as well as protecting it from the harsh winter weather coming up.
Using products like Wash Plus, Clay bar and Ultimate Compound, we were able to get the paint back to glossy red in preparation for the protection. To boost the red's natural gloss and protect it from future winter months, we used our Gold Class Carnauba Plus Liquid Wax. The Gold Class really helps give the paint fantastic protection thanks to the Carnauba properties and is perfect protection for the winter weather.

For winter prep you need to seal the paint. Use a sealant first then top off with a wax. Some products have a sealant/wax combo.

Always wanted this Type R in the US when it first launched, sadly the civics of this generation were neutered and didn’t have a real performance model.

Great Video! Wondering if you know how to get rid of really harsh and hard water spots from bore water! I’m talking like 2 years of sitting next to the sprinklers! Black paint is almost white!!!!!!

Give our Ultimate Compound a go! It contains mechanical cleaners that remove the hard water spots as well as swirl marks.

Aren't you supposed to use Ultimate Polish after Ultimate Compound? You have other waxes/sealants that are much more durable and last longer that I would think would be more suitable for a "winter prep" video, like the Hybrid Ceramic Wax or even Ultimate Fast Finish. Both would've been a better choice and in fact, your Winter Kit includes the Hybrid Ceramic Wax.

You can use Ultimate Polish however because the compound did such a good job of reviving the paint all it took was the polishing oils within the gold class wax to brighten the red and protect it.

So there were a few methods we used in this video. Firstly there was the Wash Plus! It contains polishing agents within it that basically remove any wax protection and give he cars paint a deep scrub, then there's also the clay! Clay will remove any wax protection just like the Wash Plus.
