Hey Just came across the video. There’s like several different holes/spots where you can insert the cable on the throttle lever.

This looks like the correct installation, however, you were talking about the unloader valve throttle cable as it relates the idle/fast engine speed incorrectly. I have a Northstar with the same engine. Look by your hand in the video and you can see the throttle speed indicator that shows away from air box as idle and toward air box as fast.... lol

You may be right about that Travis. Nerves probably got to him being he was new to the camera ;-)

I was going to make the same comment. He’s not the only guy demonstrating these installs that’s reversed the idle and high speed explanations.

His idle explanation is backards. As it unloads it kicks out not in, thu, reducing idle. Use this with a belt centrifugal clutch like I did.

Why take the time to make the video and not show us the installation of the valve into the unloader valve? . In my opinion the camera should have been catching all installation aspects 👎

So is that still a pneumatic actuated cable? Like when the head unloads it blows air out of that hole into a piston style valve that pushes and pulls on the cable?

Thanks for the question! That is correct, even though the wire cable inside of the sheath actuates the piston on the throttle control arm, it's pneumatically triggered at the pilot/unloader valves where the valve body is installed.

I have a problem air pressure builds engine goes to ldle when pressure drops and engine is to reve up the engine cuts off?

Thanks for the question David. There could be a couple of potential causes here. First, however, what is the make and model number of the unit? This will help. The throttle/idle control valve could be the culprit. If the throttle valve doesn't actuate the governor arm once the Pilot Valve tells the unit to kick into high running gear, then it will likely stall like it is doing. Or, the Pilot Valve itself isn't getting the pneumatic signal to the throttle/idle control assembly itself. If you can provide more detail that would help as well. At what pressures is the unit supposed to kick down to idle and kick up to "high gear"? Thanks!

how does the z shaped wire stay in place????? trying to put a throttle control z shaped wire to similar engine....don't know how to attach the z shaped wire that lookslike yours....

Thanks for the question e! The "z" shaped end of the wire simply inserts into the eyelet of the throttle control arm, and nothing keeps it in place, per se. Once you clamp down the wire and insert the end of the cable, it will stay in place. If yours doesn't stay in place, then the eyelet may be too large.

Air Compressor Parts Online thank you for response. I did put through a small circle and it does stay. now my issue is the wire casing that leads to the throttle Control does not stay I need to get one of those screws with the hole in it which the throttle wire housing can go through and be tightened down. the engine I have doesn't have one. not sure what these particular scews or nuts with hole tightening are called ....

That's exactly what you need, yes. It's essentially a clamp, and you can view a couple of options we have on our website by clicking on the below link: aircompressorpartsonline.com/engine-throttle-controls-cable-clamps-swivels-and-more-throttle-control-accessories-p-4388.html Hopefully this helps!

There should be a little plastic circular keeper to keep the crook neck in the larger hole.
