New Videos every Saturday! Something I forgot to mention is that weave attunement doesn't show auras if the item is left in the chest. If the killer is running hoarder, they'll get a notification when the chests are opened, but if the item isn't worth picking up then just leaving it there doesn't hurt anyone, and doesn't make you oblivious. Also, Distortion and Object are great perks I forgot to mention. Thanks for the support, it's been crazy to see all the feedback! Thanks to this video, I think many killer mains saw it and just stopped bringing the perk combo. I still choose to play it safe and not bring items and move any items I see to a corner of the map
My personal favorite counter to this build is Object Of Obsession. It allows you to make the build work for you rather than against you. You'll see the killer's aura 100% of the time as long as you're in range of an item. You can even intentionally drop your item to reap the aura reading benefits. This can make loops such as shack infinite as you can both see each other through walls, eliminating mind games. You can also drop your item while on a gen to take advantage of the 6% repair speed buff at the cost of your aura being shown. It can come in clutch if someone else is preoccupying the killer's attention. You do not need to be the obsession for this counter to work as regardless of obsession status, object will reveal the killer's aura to you whenever they can see yours (unless the killer is undetectable).
@@Yuri98 I actually had a game with object against an amanda's letter pig and it helped a lot because even though you don't see the aura the perk icon still lights up so it just told me she was nearby.
@@alexmercer9304 no, the aura reveal every 30 seconds is tied to being obsession, the other part where you see killer aura if they see yours is always on
@ToxicSentinelTTV yup I fuck with them when I'm on my SM when I throw down my drone, and I use the add on that makes my undetectable last 20% longer lol
I'd say object of obsession is the best for it, you can literally turn the franklin weave build against the killer, you can just put items in the muddle of the loops like shack or jungle gym and you can just see them and there is nothing they can do
Not if they are undetectable. That's why I been running the 20% longer in undetectable when I drop my drones on SM. I've been getting so much salt with Franklin's, weave, horders, pop, then having to do with my drones on top of it lol.
You can even bring the items with you to gens and place it down to see them all the time and get 6% boost for repair. Once done pick up item and go to next gen.
Seeing people find the solutions for the puzzle is awesome. This is an awesome counter to weave. Some people are also using object of obsession because of the killer can see you you can see the killer so you can use weave against the killer as well with object.
Another good couple of perks is boon: shadow step as that will hide auras, so you can stash any dropped items in the boon, and object of obsession to counter wallhack the killer
I main killer and bring Frankie's and Weave on Vecna - I'll be honest, I saw a team do this once and it blew my mind. I had to sit there and just look at this pile of crap in disbelief. Had to let them go, that was peak.
@mallowbunny1059 if they're putting items in a corner for weave idk if you understand the point of weave, 2 perk slots for countering just the items isn't the point lmao
Nifty little trick you can always check for weave at the beginning of a match if you have an item simply by placing it on the ground it'll show you the perk icon and when you pick it back up obviously you'll be oblivious then you could always guarantee that they most likely have Franklin's as well then you could just start stacking items in the corner of the maps😂
Yes, I think I mentioned it somewhere, maybe too briefly. What I'm choosing to focus on is not starting with an item, you won't need to check every game. Great tip tho
This is great advice. I'm definitely going to keep it on mind. Going in without an item is a little silly for me, but a good counter. I five myself just picking up items and then dropping them in a corner of the map no one needs to go to lol
Same ppl are hating it when I play my main skull merchant lol. Franklin's, weave, horders, and pop. Use the 20% longer undetectable and supercharge for 15% longer claw traps. I get so much info it's crazy! I see when they pick up items, open chests, run through my drones, and auras from items. When ppl use object of obsession, I can drop my drone down for undetectable, and they can't see my aura lol. SM is super mean with this build.
@@bigphil0005bro no wonder they hate it. Skull merchant is already annoying af than u put this perk combo on… Jesus if I ever meet u don’t worry about finding me I’ll find you at a hook brother, I ain’t got time for an hour long match
As with all these things, I don’t want to run builds to counter things that might never happen. I run builds that are guaranteed to be of use in every single game.
Has a dramaturgy absolute FANATIC, it is NOT the perk you want to be using against this combo. For one, it gives you oblivious for 30 seconds regardless of the item you got from drama because of Weave attunement. And if you roll the item scenario while holding anything it will drop and make a free radar along side giving you oblivious.
yeah its all fun and games until everyone is searching chest and getting hit so now there's a map wide radar for the killer from all the dropped items nobody wants
using plunder's to see items you could coordinate with the team to have all the used items dropped in a low traffic area of the trial. (area where gens are done and pallets are depleted.)
As a killer main, an even easier way to counter it is to place the items in corners of the map and away from main objectives. I know you mentioned this but all the others seems to complex to pull off
I have a better option but its not solo queue fool proof. Run Object + Apprasial and Plunderers. The goal is to put items in strong tiles intentionally to wall hack the killer as if it was wiretap
@@ultimatedespair2368 That's actually a really good idea, I haven't thought of that. You can also use Ace in hole for better items. But the thing is, you need to know if you're going against this build otherwise all this build is kinda pointless
Bring object instead, get wallhacks when you leave items at shack. And you get 6% boost in gen progression if you drop the item next to you at the gen.
I just stopped bringing medkits and any items i find on the ground, i just move the to the closest corner of the map to basically counter the aura reading. As well as I noticed killers suddenly just stopped doing the perk combo since this video released in my games
I guess this goes without saying, but Distortion isn’t a bad counter either. Distortion counters so many aura reading perks, so if you’re not feeling object of obsession, distortion should help out.
Another note I didn't see is you can 99 your items, don't fully deplete them when you can avoid it. This lets you drop the item in a corner without triggering weave twice or triggering hoarder at all.
Ooor just drop your item immediately as soon trial starts and pick it back up revealing the build, if so simply leave your item in a corner until needed.
I am always keen on chest but since this perk combo exists I shouldn't as I once detected the value for the killer with distortion and the stacks just flew.
Yesterday in a 4 man swf we were bringing 4 flashlights and changing last second to nothing 💀. Killer were literally bringing any combination of lightborn, franklins, hoarder, weave attunement every single game. Comedy gold I swear
I think the range of weave needs to be a little bit shorter because depending on the map this tactic might not work.... like indoor maps rip gideons and midwich... rpd can be worked with albiet carefully.... haven't had it happen in Lery's yet
me and my friend who are duo stopped bringing items about 3 days ago when we kept seeing this perks combo never saw it again afterwards I mean in 30+ games. so it seems 2 itemless survivors is enough to for killers to change their build in lobby I think killer might still keep it with 3 survivors with items though.
Na I still bring it anyways on my Skull Merchant lol.. I can get kills easily without perks. Most of the time the ones that don't bring items I see them going for chest so I get the notification. Then slapping the ones that do get chest items or that did bring an item I slap it out for the aura. Then to counter object of obsession I can throw down a drone for undetectable. I also use the addon that gives her 20% longer duration on undetectable. Trust me I've been getting so much salt and dcs
I'm a killer main, this perk comb should be Meta. because the fact that Gen regression perks have been heavily nerfed. And it's a good counter to being Gen rushed, bully Bully squads, and Sabo plays. I use this comb alot and I still lose. U can even counter it with one boon perk that hides auras. If killers can have counters to items. And good items are very strong all in themselves. There are ways to counter play everything
i don't understand this video. if you're opening chests, and rummaging through them, aren't you just creating MORE "radars" for the killer? and if you're going to place all of the unwanted items from the chests in the corner, doesn't that waste precious time?
@@nspgcertified Honestly imo yes it is, not just cause of your aura being hidden for 10 seconds but also your scratch marks. Can lead to some pretty good getaways
I like the part about bringing all items to the map boarders or useless corners, BUT 1) I don't understand why you want to loot more chests against such a build, it seems very weird for me, especially in soloqueue, cause in a long match you just will create a crazy amount of radars. Just don't bring items and don't loot freaking chests? 2) You completely missed, that you can use Weave Attunement as your own instrument as survivor - if you playing with Object of Obsession, you can put items in big\tall or indoor loops and make it almost completely unplayable for killers, especially 4.4m/s ones 3) God please don't call this toxic, it's NOT that hard to counter if aware of debuffs on you and have common sense, we just need to wait until more soloqueue survivors will be more aware (ahahahaha) 4) And also one more solution: you can use a Boon: Shadow step and make a warehouse inside of it's range, somewhere near repaired generator (I already practiced it and almost everytime soloqueue teammates will understand what are you doing and bringing their items there as well). Later in the game you can heal here or take something that you need.
I was playing as Ash one time with the puppet and the killer didn’t know I had an item it was a key. I dropped it and picked it up after I was about to escape.
I hope it doesn't get nerfed too heavily. I think the aura reading range on weave is a bit too much rn but could still be great if dialed down slightly
It's all about point of view. From the survivors POV, perks that directly affect their ability to have fun is often called toxic in the community. And of course it goes for both sides. It's not a word I agree with necessarily, but one the dbd community at large has adopted. Hope this helped!
shame what people consider toxic "How dare you counter our items, that is so toxic" Survivors have many ways to counter killers, some built into the Killer's trials. Survivor entitlement is strong in this one.
It's not really toxic, but it's about as close to toxic as a perk can be. It's not about countering items, though, as people don't think Lightborn for example is toxic. Some people find Lightborn annoying because they're bored of gens and just want to go for flashy saves or do a killer blind archive challenge, but nobody would call it toxic. Franklins is obnoxious because the killer straight up slaps your item out of your hand and then depletes its charges so it's not even worth going back later to recover it. I overall prefer the killer role and Franklins is the most tilting perk to get hit by in the game for me. Meanwhile, Hoarder is just mean because survivors doing chests is free slowdown for the killer, and using that perk means you want to punish people for doing things other than generators.
@Zakon673 ah yes the I'm bored of actually playing the game so let me follow my friend around and flashlight save him then get tunneled by the killer. Classic and I don't really see how Franklin's is obnoxious. Yeah it knocks the item off and depletes it. But so does using your item unless you bring built to last....the items don't win you the matches and before weave was made Franklin's was barely ever used
I brought Franklin seeing 3 med kits and 1 flashlight + blood warden for my endgame Chucky build, turns out they got 3 meta med kits which I am glad I brought Franklin and caught a teabagging survivor who stays oblivious to my blood warden activation and just teabagging there. That Feng ent I caught called me using baby perks and yet I guess it not the perk baby but the survivor acting baby.
As both, survivor and killer player I like this perk, combo. Yes it's annoying to play against it but so are other aura reading perks. And it gives new use for twins perk. I would be sad if it got nerfed. But as survivor it generates need for different builds and I think that's good. The meta is changing and is bringing value to more abandoned perks on both sides
I don't use hoarder 😅 I prefer franklins weave with lanquid favor. Block pallets, counter exhaustion perks, and keep items from giving me a hard time 😊
As a player on both sides i do think this combo is fine, annoying yes, but it's fine. we have gotten passed the nerfs to the gen kicking meta while gen rushing metas are on the rise. I'm just happy there is a new meta that makes finding survivors easier so it can lead to chases more. also people underestimate how powerful items are. not so much medkits anymore. but toolboxes and flashlight well all know what they can do. i think this combo just takes the survivor's greed and it gets uno reversed on them. like I got greedy trying to pick my toolbox back and got instant karma.
Moving the items to the corner of the map while the killer is chasing or carrying a survivor is such an obvious counter that it makes me sick to think about how many ppl are complaining about this killer perk combo.
the thing is just that noone brings this to counter flashlights, people have always and will always just bring lightborn, saving a perk slot for more gen regression, yay!
this perk combo can be strong enough to make up for the lack of slowdown. Just not every game. Lightborn def counters flashlight, but so does looking at a wall. or looking up. or looking down. or turning around. franklins is a different totally viable option too, just isn't a hard counter like lightborn
I don't bring items, mostly as I dont feel like putting BP into survivors when my killers need their add-ons. And I am more of a killer player than a survivor player (maybe 66% vs 33%?)
Thanks for the update on how strong this combo is, if you hadn’t had made this video I wouldn’t have known, look out survivors your flashlights are mine
*Distortion* But in all seriousnes, Weave attunement is a fun new perk with an unigue and strong effect. Maybe it deserves a slight radius nerf so that a single useless broken key doesn't reveal an entire loop, but please stop complaining about it before Bhvr guts the entire perk into something thats complitely useless, and killers switch to 4 slowdowns beacuse nothing else is worth running.
100% agree. I just think its important that my solo queue teammates know about it. Ignorance makes the perk x10 stronger. I do enjoy it though & hope it sticks around
If there's less than 4 items and the killer brings it anyway, punish it. You can make them waste a perk slot by moving items away from strong tiles. 2 if they bring Franklin's
Chests CAN be worth it, and this video shows you how to do it. Giving the killer your aura for free isn't the end of the world with a coordinated team, but not every team is coordinated enough to pull it off. & still can't believe I forgot to mention distortion. At some point I had to decide to stop writing and start editing
@@nspgcertifiedIm sorry I should have made it more clear. I was talking about Scavengers Perk icon and that it didn’t fit with Pharmacy and Manifest. Is frustrates me. IYou did nothing wrong, I was talking about Gabriel. It is a really good video.
Meh franklin simply isn't worth it, most people will randomly notice weaves up 🤔 and by then they mostly forgot where it is, plus lethal gives a bit extra seconds, when survivors leave the radar. (I think) Leaves open 2 free slots for whatever I want and if no one brings items doesn't really matter I still have 3 free slots if I don't wanna use lethal
THERE IS NO COUNTER TO FRANKLIN'S SO THIS VIDEO IS KINDA POINTLESS THE KILLER IS STILL GONNA BRING FRANKLIN'S AND WEAVE IF THERE'S ONLY 3 SURVIVORS WHO BROUGHT ITEMS AND YOU DIDN'T FINDING ITEM'S IN CHESTS FRANKLIN'S IS STILL GONNA BE USED ON YOU
I dont think these perks are "Toxic" I think you're blaming a perk for dealing with busted items. If taking away busted items temporarily is "toxic" then what is bringing those items to begin with? Also I'd argue that franklins is not a "Flashlight hardcounter" Like at all. That assumes you can actually hit the flashlight survivor instead of getting jumped by a backgroundplayer flashlight. Lightborn is the only, actual reliable hardcounter to flashlights. Again I don't think the killer perks are toxic. If people want to argue about strength then sure. But saying "You can take away my items and punish me for trying to get them back" is toxic feels a little entitled. Good tips though when it comes to trying to play around it
Bruh i dont understand, i love running this combo its so nice, a nice change from gen regression builds, but survivors will still hate any viable killer combo ig
Bro, im sick of people saying solo q players dont do anything when, in reality, it's the other way around. Every time i q up its alwasy the swfs that run around not doing anything. I can get 4 gens done and loop the killer around the map by myself, and the swf won't do anything, and then when the match is over, they all message me blameing me for all of us loseing. Like its my fault they can't work on the objective, or loop the killer, or do literally anything productive.
@@luckycatyt635 anyone who's toxic is just trying to get a rise out of you. Block out the haters, have fun, be a goldfish. I'm a solo Q surv too I feel your pain
Franklins isnt only good for countering flashlights, it also makes medkits basicly unusable because by the time you get back to your medkit Franklins probably ate away at it enough to make it basicly have no charges so unles u brought any of the stupid broken stuff (styptic/syringe) its unusable.
Really? Video about countering Weave Attunement and Object of Obsession is not even mentioned once? Someone really didn't do their proper research before making this
Everyone makes mistakes. I wasn't playing when it was changed a while back, never even thought about it One of the nice things about these videos is learning stuff I didn't know :)
"tHiS pErK iS tOxIc aNd oThEr PlAyErS sHoUlD fOlLoW mY SuRvIvoR rUlEbOoK" Jeez, why is there so many of these overgrown toddlers that dont understand the concept of a PvP game.
@@nspgcertified Yeah ive been ignoring their cries for 4 years now but it still always tilts my brain when people unironicly act that way lol. Like i can not fathom how adults can be so whiney all the time.
I'm just saying, I should NOT be able to see survivors OUTSIDE the basement when a Weave Attunement item is down by the hooks The range on the aura read is just far too large.
There's no such thing as toxic perks. The overuse and misuse of the word toxic in the DBD community is insane, lol On top of that, the fact that the DBD community actually needed someone to tell them something this obvious...good on ya for that. You realized how babied this community is on both sides to a point where they've forgotten how critical thinking can result in finding simple solutions like this.
There absolutely are toxic perks, something like old Eruption was toxic. Killers like old SM are toxic. Dude, most of these “counters” aren’t even good. No, you don’t want to use Dramaturgy to counter it. You still get hit with Oblivious, second killers are using hoarder to prevent you from picking the item back up. It’s toxic due to the inability to counter it
I'll never forget how I pissed off a Bubba by jumping in a locker with my purple flashlight and white ward offering to counter his franklins😂 Before kller mains going to throw words by 'nOt BeLiEvInG mE' yes he WAS pissed and just thrown his own game by just slugging me on the ground watching me bleed out. All because I countered his beloved Franklins😂

just because slowdown perks exist, doesn't mean there's no other way to slow the game down. Aura reading is strong, and this combo can be worth the perk slots in the right games

@@nspgcertified well that much we agree on, idc about survivors do personally, it's not on them to balance the game. But that doesn't stop killers from whining about what survivors do/don't do.
Sorry but this combo is waaaay too strong. Every killer is abusing this combo. Toxic build. I’ve literally gone a game picking up every item and putting them in the corner of the map.
I really hope this combo gets nerfed Infinite wall hacks is incredibly bullshit especially when it’s also paired with Franklin’s Don’t care if it’s better then Gen regress meta, bullshit is bullshit nothing should be oppressive
fair. gotta grab your attention somehow tho. I don't really think any perks are toxic personally, but some perks are inherently more toxic than others. just how it is.
toxic why not just say take every thing away from killers u want it a easy survivor game u get it nerfed why not just take all hooks out of the game and make unbreakable base kit I bet u survivors still will not be happy
I mean I play both killer and survivor this perk combo is ass you legit have wallhacks the entire game. Only if u are a bum ass killer do u not get a 4k wit this unless people don’t bring items like the creator said. I played a vecna who had a nasty 3 gen in the middle with this perk combo as soon as someone would touch a gen there he would be. The game lasted over 45 minutes and he didn’t get one sacrifice. This feels like skull merchant all over again
@@d3st3s not in my case this has happened to me countless times. This is the new “meta” and as a solo q player there’s dog shit I can do about it. I don’t want to run an entire build to “counter” 2 perks that a killer brings when I know that the other survivors all brought items and all getting hit near middle area in the beginning of the game (3-5 gens left) if this is the case you literally cannot win cannot heal cannot do gens without the killer right in your face. Than people prob say we’ll do gens far away from middle so he can’t see you… ok I do that than I’m left with a nasty 3 gen in the middle that is super patrolable. I try to take chase and mans doesn’t want any part of me just like a CO in a jail just patrolling constantly not even worried about survivors. Just not fun every game I face with this is this… even if I win it wasn’t fun and it took me 45 minutes lol
Interesting suggestion on how to counter Franklin/weave/plunders combo but I don't see why you have to call it toxic, particularly since you didn't consider ftp/buckle up combo toxic when you suggested these perks in your shrine showcase a few weeks back, killers using their perks and playing how they want is no more toxic than survivors using theirs and also playing how they want
Part of the reason I felt comfortable talking about it is because It had been announced it was getting nerfed at the time. Play how you want bro, I could be running meta shit but I like my chests
I didn't run items for the first 5 years I played this game. Just because I use them now doesn't mean it's a crutch. I think this perk combo is great & more people need to know about it
Don’t open chest like a bot and waste time being unproductive. Just hotswitch last second and if you forget just go drop the item in the corner and go pick it up before you leave.
I'm 100% honest: I still think that Chests are the most useless thing ever. If you don't want to give the Killer free Weave Attunement, bring no Item. It's not like playing without Item is equal to throwing. And opening chests wastes tons of time, if you make yourself a build around it you even waste Perk slots. Absolutely not worth it in my opinion. The second option is to straight up ignore Weave Attunement. By going out of your way to get every Item and place it into a corner you waste plenty of time. And then the Killer could still have Floods of Rage or Gearhead and see you all the time. Why bother about that? I don't see the issue with the Killer knowing where you are. Unless it's a sniping Huntress for example this doesn't really matter. The last option is to run Distortion as a hard counter.
