You have the most exquisite taste and gorgeous style!! There isn't a design I wouldn't love to have in my own home. My father used to own a funeral home in Northern Michigan. It was in an old Victorian home on a hill overlooking a lake (two blocks away) on a cobblestone street. It covered an entire half a city block. It was red brick outside and had an old stable converted to a five stall garage (one heated) and carriage house, with a small 3 bedroom apartment above where I lived with my infant daughter. My parents and siblings lived in the living quarters on the second story of the main house. My dad decorated the entire home after purchasing it (it was HIDEOUS and gloomy before he worked his magic!) The woodwork was original as were the light fixtures. The second floor had three big bedrooms with full bathes and walk-in closets. Oh, the bathrooms each had big claw foot tubs!! The house had a gorgeous curved staircase in the front that would have been grand decorated by you!! I always pictured getting married in that house and walking down that staircase...35 years later and I'm still single!! If I couldn't get married in that house with my father walking me down the aisle...to hell with getting married!! LOL Anyway, I would have LOVED seeing how you decorated that beautiful home. Each year it takes over 30 hours decorating the staircase and the Christmas tree. It's a layering process and takes 3 of us to tackle it. I use floral wire, not hooks and the staircase takes 5 6ft garlands (it's a semi circle staircase/iron not wood). I also find that adding dried magnolia leaves with a mist of glitter adds so much--As well as using dried artichoke hearts spayed with champagne silver. At the end I add the berries (if you have real holly in your yard--dry it and use it too! Lastly, I love using pheasant feathers in natural and red. The look is gorgeous, and quite natural (I integrate real pine cones that smell like cinnamon). Ultimately, the beautiful ribbon (Frontgate) is Scottish plaid and gives the old world feel. I like the plushness and the elegance of Robertson's decorations. Well, now I get started in the other rooms. Takes 4 ever but worth it!!! Love your vids!

This is stunning. I was overwhelmed with my staircase. I have some plain garland with lights. I love the idea of the swags already decorated going in opposite directions. My bannister is wrought iron with solid wood as the post. I’m not sure how to attach the garland at the front post to lay straight. It’s a pretty fat post.
