entered all of the code correctly but I cannot see the created child theme when I go to refresh my dashboard :(

Hi Jim, I can only guess as to where it went wrong but you possibly haven't uploaded the child theme files in the right place (wp-content/themes/) or you need to look in the dashboard under: Appearance -> Themes

Not working. I get this: Broken Themes The following themes are installed but incomplete. Name Description NewsCard-Child The parent theme is missing. Please install the "Newscard" parent theme. I looked upon some other tutorials and they give similar advice to yours. I tried removing all files and creating everything from scratch again, and it still doesn't work. The theme I am using is the NewsCard theme.

Hi Đorđe, it sounds like the "template" part of your style.css file is incorrect. Make sure that it shows the exact name of your parent theme's folder. So if your parent theme is in a folder named "newscard" then write "template: newscard"

@@WPExplainer I've triple checked everything and I even erased and created those files needed for a child theme all over again a couple of times. So it's not that. 😕

Okay and sorry to ask, but are you 100% sure the parent theme is also installed on your site?

@@WPExplainer haha yes, I'm building a website and I am running it on that theme. Can you try to create a child theme of newscard on your website and see if it works?
