If you need to attribute a quote or passage to more than one source, you can do this with Microsoft Word by inserting the citations within the parenthesis of the first citation.
How many APA style citations (with author names & year) are allowed to be inserted in a parenthesis in MS Word? I am experiencing a limitation of 8 citaions only, after that no further insertion of citation happens. Please check and revert.
Does anyone know how to edit the in-text citations? For example, I want to re-arrange the citations to be in chronological order. However, word won't allow me to do this as it says the citations are locked. If there are any Word Gurus out there, please help. Thank you
Why would you want to do this? The citations should go with the text that they apply to. So if you quote a topic, the citation goes with the quotation. If you move the quotation, the citation goes with it.
@@HikerKatie In Vancouver style the citations need to be in numerical order. THe other major problem with not being able to edit the in-text citation directly is that, also in Vancouver style, we cannot cite this way(1,2,3,6,8); we are supposed to cite them as (1-3,6,8). Do you happen to know how to do this?
Mike M. You can right click to edit something, click inside and edit and grab the dotted handle to the left and drag to a different location? I’m not exactly sure what you want to do, but you can do all these.
@@HikerKatie Yes, I changed the style to IEEE, but when I try to do this, just it looks separated. As I said: [1, 2, 3] and I want to change it to [1-3]. Anyway, thank you.
@@LuisVazquez-ry8ke If your right click on any citation, you can choose to convert to static text and edit as you like. This citation will not pull into the bibliography unless you use this source in another citation, so you would have to manually add it..
Please Can you tell me how l do this citation * Acounting education change commission (AECC) (1990) objectives of education, issues in accounting education 5(2),307-315. I Want the abbreviation to appear to me only in the texte and not the full name of the author (the organisation ). Like this (AECC,199O) . THANKS
Is this what you mean? I don't know anything about them. "In law, a citation or introductory signal is a set of phrases or words used to clarify the authority (or significance) of a legal citation as it relates to a proposition."
The "et al" will add automatically following the rules of the style you choose. So, example, as soon as a source has six names in APA style, the citation will put the et al following that style.
