I love the Friday Q&As that do more to help people tackle and solve their specific problems/issues. I agree that for most people the M1 is more than enough for Davinci Resolve. I only found some advanced AI issues that the M1 cannot handle and the M4 will. But for regular editing, there is no difference in performance or rendering.
@@DanielKovacs Try this - I used the magic mask on a flower in the color page. Then I inverted the mask and used Dynamic Key Framing to change the background to B&W. The M4 handles this w/o any issues. The M1 cannot. I know that this is processor intensive but the combination of the two functions is more than most people will do but it is not unrealistic in this case to achieve a stunning visualization of the flower color. Try it.
