How To Create a Cute Character with Felt Effects in Adobe Photoshop

Over on my Spoon Graphics website I recently shared a free resources kit for creating felt effects within your designs, so I thought I'd use that subject for today's video and show you how to use the tools to create cute craft inspired artwork. What we'll be creating is a cute dinosaur character in Adobe Photoshop, that makes use of the Styles, Brushes and Patterns from my free Felt Craft Kit. The tools make it easy to apply these textures to your artwork to give it a realistic fuzzy fabric appearance, with little details like stitches to complement the hand-made look.

Well, this aged poorly... The blog post went from "Download My Free Felt Craft Kit" to "Felt Craft Kit". So it ain't free anymore, we have to pay membership to get the pack :c

you keep saying it's free but when i check, it says it's a premium download and can only be downloaded with a paid membership... oh, for anyone wondering, since this video got a bit of attention he changed it, making you pay for the package unfortunately :/ I wish he would've at least mentioned this in the description or something. (i get it, but now he's just straight up lying about it being free.)

I can't find the free link? If it's no longer free, then you might want to update the video description/links to reflect this. Even better, take the video down as you reference the 'free' pack several times and the video is useless without it.

Love the tutorial, but my stitches came out in a straight line in some places and then crooked/angled in other places. I Dont know why.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. It's very cute. I'm having a problem with applying the stitch brush though. I'm following what you did exactly but when I press Stroke Path and choose brush nothing happens. How do I fix that??

I love the look/idea behind this effect. It would be wonderful for a logo. However, you might have to slow it down with your directions for more of an amateur like me. It was extremely hard to follow and unfortunately I was not able to do the design. :-\.

how do you create the fury edges of the shapes though? Because generally with felt objects you can see a bit of the fur portrude beyond the edge of the surface

it wasnt working for me either so what i did was compress the file then it created a new zip file i opened it and it created a 2nd felt link and i opened it into photoshop :)
