How to create a Google My Business listing (the right way)

Creating a Google my business listing may seem easy at first. The 2019 interface is very intuitive, so it seems. You go to Google my business, create an account, start filling up the form and, in less than 10 minutes, you're done..
A few days later you verify your listing with the Google postcard verification code hopping customers will be flooding in...but the phone stays quiet.
Why?
Have you chosen the right category for your business?
Was there a Google listing for your business already in Google?
Did you fully optimise your listing so you get the best chances of being found in the Google snack pack and across Google maps results?

Thanks. Not sure i understand your first question but If you run a local business you should use the name of it when creating a google listing For question number 2, no you don't need a separate email address.

Same as any other GMB. Use the service option as opposed to an fixed address and set up your opening times according to your schedule

Hey there - question for you. I buy apartment complexes that need a lot of renovation and work to improve the community. Typically when we acquire the property, they have a lot of bad reviews that we inherit. We then go in and renovate the complex and make it a great place to live which makes me think those reviews are no longer valid. Do you know if there's a way to eliminate those outdated reviews? Or is there a way to start a brand new MyBusiness that would replace the old one? Many thanks!

You'll have to create a separate listing for each location. Use the same email address so you can access all locations from the same Google my business dashboard

Hi there. The purpose of images are to o spotlight features of your business that customers consider when making purchasing decisions. I don't feel sights will be part of that unless you have taken them yourself to illustrate a particular service you provide such as a bike tour with a site in the background

Ni Muhammed. The main option is through a postcard. Most businesses will not have access to other options which are granted by Google anyway.

The person kept my info and add and changed the contact info to his/her. Is there anything else I can do? I’m so sad cause if this.

@@rankingacademy When we first started the business, we did not know anything about google my business and so this person said they would create one for us. So the person made it some time ago but I think the person who created our ad sold the ad to another person.

That's not a problem. Since you are a local business Google will not display their listing instead of yours as proximity is the n#1 ranking factor

I viewed your video twice and have one question. I have a google my business account for my business. I would like to follow your instructions to open a google my business account for my client's business. When I follow your instructions, google keeps referring me back to my account and will not let me proceed to create the account for my client. I called google support but they were not very helpful. Are you using a unique Gmail account for your client? If not log out of everything, create a gmail address for your client and set up a gmb profile with it.

If you have 5 locations you should create 5 listing. One for each. If they are different they should all have their respective phone number.

Unfortunately you cannot use a PO box to verify your listing. It doesn't qualify according to Google my buisness'' guidelines

NO. Google my business is totally free. You SHOULD NOT be charged .

You should receive a coupon by post which includes your verification code. It takes around 3 to 4 days once you've completed your listing

I'm a plumber, if I don't put in my address, then will this affect my chances of ranking in the 3 pack? Because should I build citations but if I haven't entered my address on gmb would citations be useless? Thanks

No, It shouldn't affect your rankings. As a matter of fact, according to Google's guidelines, you mustn't add you address as a service type of business. I work with an electrician and this is exactly what i do. And yes you can build citations using your address. Google knows where you are anyway
