I’ve watched the Vectric videos demonstrating the sculpting brush before but using it to simulate a hand carved look is such a great technique. It never occurred to me. Definitely something I’ll be trying & using in the future. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent video Michael. Content was to the point and very informative. I really liked your brush resizing method. The only thing I thought you might add would be, how to rotate the sculpting brush via holding "r" and rolling the mouse wheel. Great job.

Thank you for doing this video. I just finished a 10” x 72” sign In which I used this technique to give it a carved out look around the lettering.

I might be kicking myself at the end of the video for asking but here it goes any way, Rough tool path, texture then finish with the horse head?
@mezalick
@mezalick 2 года назад
Paul, with my method the texture is a nw=ew component so you'll only need a roughing and finish toolpath. Not sure I understand your question. Email me if you need more. mm@mezalick.com

@@mezalick Just wondering if the order of the tool paths might have helped. Great vid!

Hi, I am really learning a lot of new concepts in your videos, especially this one! The only thing I have not figured out is how to display the grayscale image in the 3D view, as you do when applying the long brush texturing. How does one display the grayscale image of the model on 3D view while sculpting, as you have? Thank You!
@mezalick
@mezalick Год назад
You'll need to select the component AND the image.....Then click on the sculpting ion and there is a check box at the bottom of the sculpting window to show the greyscale. ( Show Overlay Image)

Hi, sorry to be so obtuse... I put the screen into split 2D / 3D view and when I select the bitmap it automatically selects the corresponding component, so I only was able to select one or the other to make them both selected, so I am missing how to select them BOTH in separate operations. When I open up the sculpting window the option to "Show Overlay Image" is greyed out. Pressing "O" does toggle the checkmark but it remains greyed. So how does one select BOTH the component and the image to allow the "Show Overlay Image" to be active? Thank You ;)
@mezalick
@mezalick Год назад
@@kelleysislander How about this, in the split screen select the image( picture) in the 2D view, ( component may need to be turned off to see the picture, then hold the shift key down and click on the component, either in the 3D view or in the component tree ( modeling tab). That should have both selected and then click on the sculpting tool.

@@mezalick Thank you I will try that... I have the latest Aspire 11.504 and it no longer has the option for "Show Grayscale Background" that I used to love using, as you do in the video... Thanks again ;)
