This video is includes the entire process of creating a pixelated painting from beginning to end and is designed so that middle school students can independently navigate through the assignment. Materials needed include graph paper, pencil, device, assorted tempera paints, gridded poster paper, 1/2" wooden dowels, paper towels/wipes/paper plates.
Prior to completing this project, students have already experienced creating color wheels using primary paints as well as value scales so they already have some knowledge about color mixing, how to set up a palette, and appropriate use of materials.
