@@thomteachesyoutube7310 Canva! at the moment, to create a YT channel is just an idea! But I just made a few banners and uploaded one I really to my channel. Thanks to you I'm one step ahead in my journey :)
Thanks Lindsey :) The Canva one will be coming soon. Really impressed with your growth in the short amount of time you've had this channel. Did you do anything outside of contributing to the local 'how-to RU-vid' communities and sharing your videos in places your target audience would be (ie. intro to filmmmaking subreddits)? I haven't been promoting the channel as much yet as I wanted to have a few videos up before I sent people this way but just shot a video yesterday for my main channel announcing this 2nd channel.
Thom Teaches RU-vid YEs, i did promote heavily across Facebook and I did paid promotion for the videos I have several thousand views, but it gets expensive, so I will only do that going forward on my “hero” type content, if at all. My other channel is doing well without any promo but it’s niche is more narrow and no competition, so with just a little SEO knowledge I still get 60-120 subs per month and I haven’t added any new content since over a year there. (Lindsey LaVida). I find it harder to rank videos in the RU-vid niche. A lot of competition with big channels. But maybe with time... Are you in VRA?
@@youtubegirl173 Makes sense. Assuming all the ads pointed to the channel instead of a video natively put onto Facebook? Yeah, I hear what you mean about making 'how to RU-vid' videos because you want to make videos people are searching for but...then your video is at the bottom of the list. Not in VRA but hoping to put something together something similar to it next summer (also saw Schmoyer's video academy he's got going on in January for ideas as well). Hoping the fact that I'm an actual classroom teacher of RU-vid Video Technology will help set me apart. Good to connect with someone else who's thinking a lot about this too :)
Thom Gibson that’s really cool! Do you have any other channels? Do you teach in like a high school? I’m a teacher too but mostly English, but I’d like to move into technology as I find it much more interesting!
@@youtubegirl173 I do have a main education channel. ru-vid.com. I teach middle school math & robotics but the RU-vid Video Production class is a high school elective. First year we've done it. It's pretty fun :)
