Hello Randy, Not sure if I followed your instructions to the dot. When I am loading the 2nd project it only loads 2 lines of the project not 3. Can you guide me as to what I did wrong? Double checked code and I can't see if I missed anything. Can you help?
Hi Randy, I had an incorrect formula on the project's items tab in the criteria cell. Sorry for the inconvenience. On a side note, I love your videos and have purchased your 250+ workbooks. Quick question, do you have any projects on estimating for residential painting jobs. ie. do painting job estimate and write up the bid?
Randy, I don't know how you do it. Every week you come up with a functional, simple, clear, useful video with a matching software project. It's not possible to do this, and yet you achieve it week after week. It truly is amazing. You are inspiring multitudes of excel worshipers. It's quite impressive.
Thank you so much Dr. John, and each week I look so very forward to your feedback and comments. It is what pushes me to create new and useful applications each and every week. Thanks again.
Buddy, let me just say. I have never, ever, EVER seen this before in my life. But you are certainly skilled. I could tell when you were in your groove and just moving through the coding for the macros, that shows experience. Thank you so much for taking the time to make/explain this and then offering the template for free to any person who is fortunate enough to see this. I am a young construction business owner looking to revamp and revise the way the family company assesses it's finances. I watched your entire video even after downloading the template just so I can make sure I use it correctly. Thank you again, you are awesome
Thanks so much. I really appreciate that. Before teaching Excel, I ran a construction company for 10 years, so i have a good amount of experience in this field. I am glad I can help and share. Please check out my Mini-Accounting application to help you in your business here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-itHilzsUHck.html Thank you for your Likes, Shares & Comments. It really helps.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!! I went for an interview with a construction Co last week. I've been in Construction for years but the position was for Accounts Payable. The Interviewer thought I was there for a different reason. I went from interviewing for a 15/hr position to making more than double that; I'm now the new Project Manager/Estimator for the company. I've spent the last four days learning Excel and I took this chart in this morning, and watched the owner's and Office Manager's eyes blend into their hairline. You have made me look like a frikin genius.
Wow that is an amazing and awesome story. I am so happy that i can help and share and inspire you. I used to run a Construction company for 10 years so its an area i know well. I have two other training and templates for you to look at Construction Estimator: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3XU06Eg0PAg.html Construction Project Manager: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iP6gkMXhTPo.html I hope this helps and thanks so much.
This is the first time i leave a comment to a youtuber. I just cant wait to express my excitement when i see this! I just randomly bumped into your content and it has been quite a while since i see a high quality video tutorial before this. Thank you so much you have made my day so meaningful.
HI Randy I really in joy watching your video I think I have watched over half on them . I tried reproducing your inventory mange with not much success . So I tried to reproducer this one once I thinking that it would really help me out at work. I think I spent total of 16 hrs checking the code making sure I have the right formulas in the right cells success.
Awesome! So happy to hear that Robert. Super glad you enjoy the training. Make sure you catch my newest one, Product Catalog Creator, released in just 3 hours here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iQirWGGck9Q.html
I need a spreadsheet to track IT Project Costs, in addition to budget vs actual. Customer does not issue PO so I need a form for that. I enjoyed watching this video. I'm going to go through the rest to see of you have something I can use
Thanks so much. I am glad you like it. I think this video, Project Costing, is the closest I have, however I do have a lot, so please feel free to search for more as I have nearly 300 templates and trainings. Thank you for your Likes, Shares & Comments. It really helps.
Thanks Randy..another great Excel model. In the real world though often something like this application would need to interface with an accounting system either as front end input or more likely read transactions exported from it.
Hi Scott thanks so much for your comment. You could certainly combine this with my Invoice application on RU-vid to create a powerful budget and Invoicing application. Thank you for your Likes, Shares & Comments. It really helps.
Hi Graham thanks so much. I am glad you enjoyed the training and always appreciate your suggestions. I do have a 10 Part Project Manager series on my channel you can check out. I think you would enjoy it.
Thanks Randy - just had a look and found the series. I then realised I’ve watched them all previously but I will go back and watch again. Keep up the good work!
Yes for sure. In fact I have one specifically for construction here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iP6gkMXhTPo.html I hope this helps and thanks so much.
Thanks so much Steve. I do these every week at the same time. I hope to see you next week. Feel free to live chat with me during the video. Thank you for your Likes, Shares & Comments. It really helps.
Great stuff! I am learning something new every time I watch a video of yours. I was confused on this one a a bit with your reference to D6 in "If Not Intersect(Target, Range("D10:D999")) Is Nothing And Range("D6").Value = False". D6 is just a blank cell. I thought it was going to be B6.
Hi Gary yes that should be B6, correct. I have made the update on the downloaded version. Thanks again for your following. I don't always catch every issue during the training. Thank you for your Likes, Shares & Comments. It really helps.
Thanks a ton for the upcoming video on Project costing. I have a humble request, in my construction business excel worksheet I want to be able to click on an entry and the receipt from the vendor should open (stored in my computer). Thanks

Hi Randy Love your videos they are so educational and helpful. I have been inspired to work on a spreadsheet myself to track our hours and overtime hours worked in a month. Although I am using formulas as I don't know much about VBA. It seems though that I could stream line my spreadsheet quite a bit by using VBA. Maybe you could take a look and give me some pointers?
Hi James, thanks so much. While I am unable to provide any one on one support, I have a free VBA course taught by MVP Sumit Bansal on my site right here: www.excelforfreelancers.com/enroll-in-the-free-excel-vba-course-by-mvp-sumit-bansal-of-trumpexcel/

HI and thanks for your question. This Print area is automated when you set the Print area either manually, or with VBA code. I hope this helps and thanks so much.
Dear Randy, Thank you so much for your wonderful work. It has been of great help to me learning excel. I am struggling with the VBA codes, I did everything as you show it but when testing it out it does not pull through the ( Item type, Item name Item Description, Qty and Cost) as well as the address 1 and 2

Hi and thanks very much. Make sure that you have the correct project row and project id when loading a project. You may want to go over the training again and double check that the correct project row is being calculated. I hope this helps and thanks so much.
Hello. Upon following your video I did the same project with you. When it comes to the developer mode and the coding I run into a persistent issue in the debug process when it reaches the advanced filter code. I entered the same code as you had put and no matter how many times I try and debug this the issue still remains. Is there any possible fix I can do to make it work?

Thank you Randy for making this wonderful video. I have a question regarding the formula that you use to move guage needle (Actual Cost-20% below budge cost)/(20%above budge-20% below budget cost)*100. Is this a standard formula that is using in budgeting or this was used to show how guage needle move. I searched in google many times but could not find this formula anywhere.
Hi and thanks so much Guri for your comment. The 20% was just an arbitrary # that I chose to show the different levels. You can download this and customize it however you like using your own #'s and formulas. I hope this helps and thanks so much.
When trying to finish the project, it is saying there is a compile error: Variable not defined under the Sub Project Load (LastItemResultRow) Line 4 under Last Item Row. Can you please help me figure out what the issue is? LastItemResultRow = Sheet3.Range("N99999").End(xlUp).Row
I figured it out after some investigating. At the top of the page, I misspelled the LastItemResultRow As Long. This Video was amazing and with no experience what so ever, I was able to follow through your video and learn a lot.
Hi Randy, I noticed that all these kind of projects You never add the option to eliminate projects. For instance, in "Invoice from Scratch" You didn't also. I'm doing something like that and have serious trouble eliminating an Invoice and its current lines of products. I can but it turns out ver slow.
HI Rui thanks so much. I do at times add the ability to delete records however i am limited in time so there are always features that are needed for complete application. I will try to add delete feature in more records in the future . (I do have it in my Employee Manager series on RU-vid so please check it out) Thank you for your Likes, Shares & Comments. It really helps.
Hi and thanks for your comment. This is certainly possible. If you need a specific application built for you, please feel free to post your requirements in our Excel For Freelancers Facebook Group here: bit.ly/groupexcel We have 30,000 Members who would love to help you with this. Thanks so much.

Access is a great software for sure, however Excel is what people want and love around the world, and so that is the software i use to create my applications. Sometimes 'best' is not always best for everyone. Thank you for your Likes, Shares & Comments. It really helps.
Hi If you have tried to download this workbook using the links but had a problem please email Shane@ExcelForFreelancers.com . Please supply the email you used along with the workbook you are requesting. Thanks for your patience.
The time over hours would be the ((Project End Date + Project Start Time) - (Project Start Date + Project Start Time)) * 24 You could then multiple the # of days (Project End Date - Project Start Date) * OT Threshold to determine the Total Hours OT Worked I hope this helps and thanks so much.
Hi and thanks so much. For beginners, I have a free VBA course taught by MVP Sumit Bansal on my site right here: www.excelforfreelancers.com/enroll-in-the-free-excel-vba-course-by-mvp-sumit-bansal-of-trumpexcel/
Hi and thanks very much. Range("B4").value holds the project row. You would then write a macro that takes this row and deletes it from the project sheet such as Sub DeleteProject() Dim ProjRow as long ProjRow = Sheet1.Range("B4").value Sheet2.Range(ProjRow & ":" & ProjRow).EntireRow.Delete Project_New End Sub I have not tested this out however it should work for the most part I hope this helps and thanks so much.
