How to create a project on Google Earth

In this video, I'll show you step by step how to create a project on google earth. I think google earth is one of the most powerful google products which is underused. I also think if more people start to use it, google would invest more money on it to make it even better. Creating a project on google earth is a great fun. In this way, you could save locations to the project, slides, photos, draw paths, draw shapes, add videos, etc. Once, you've completed the project you could easily present it. The example I'll use in this video is of my recent trip to Lake District, England. I drove from Windermere, to a car park, climbed up the hill, walk on the top, made a photo, etc. You can create the whole journey and save it on google earth as a project and share it with others.

Very helpful. We were pondering on the idea of creating maps as a hard copy but this seems like a better way to go because you can share the maps of all locations in our case all the sightings.

Ahhhhhh I uploaded a KML file to give e an outline of a county. But I wanted it to be a Polygon in a project. SO I traced it out and created the Polygon. But the polygon is not in my Project like the first one I made the same way I thought. It still shows up on my map but for me to see it listed on the left side I have to click "Back To List" and it is shown there in "Local KML files." I tried dragging it into my project file, but it wont work. I looked for a way to copy and paste it there.... but there is no way to da that. HELP!!!!!!

How do you create a new place from scratch? Like if I wanted to start a new town.

Thanks for your question. This video shows how to add from the scratch. Instead of searching a place first, simply click on the map and add any name you want.

Try using Google Earth on your browser of your phone. You have to stay on the desktop mode and not change to the app. Then, you'd be able to follow the same method.
