Yea me too thank for reminding me. I kinda remember Craig gave it to a young lad who had some disabilities. A truly selfless person is Craig. An actual hero.
This just came up in my you tube feed. So good to see you Craig, I remember you in Big Brother and a DIY programme. You have hardly changed! Subscribed and looking forward to watching your videos.
Many thanks, Superset do supply a resin for driveways, its a little different than the one I used here as this one is only strong enough for commercial pathways, check out there website for further details www.sureset.co.uk
So glad I’ve found your channel Craig and an immediate subscriber. I built a driveway at the front of my house on one side and circular path for my flower beds on the other side. So much hard work having never even touched a cement mixer before lol. I searched everywhere (3 yrs ago) how to do a resin mix but everything seemed so complicated so I ended up individually placing each stone onto the cement with glue along with faux grass and plastic wood planks. Obviously didn’t work as it looked far too fussy and has broken, torn or disappeared. In a way I’m glad as after watching this il actually be able to cover both the way I wanted to, although it’s going to be expensive so I’m going to have to save. Like so many others, you were the best ever Big Brother winner. In fact I think I’ll watch the series again. Nothing like a bit of nostalgia. 😊😊😊
This is awesome. I wonder how many coats I would need to handle parked cars in my driveway (edit: I found your other video about the kind for driveways). I have to see if this is available in Canada.
Thanks mate, that's what it's designed for! Although that being said there are thousands of professionals using all over the country because it's super quick and easy to install. This was the first time @Craigbigbro had used it without any training and though it was remarkable.
Not if you're putting cars on it. It'll hold the weight of a person but not a vehicle, sureset do make a resin bound system that you can use on driveways, cheers
No not this Pour On resin it wouldn't be wrong enough, That being said, Sureset do supply a resin subtable for driveways, its worth checking out there website, www.Sureset.co.uk
Could reflective beads be applied while the last coat of gravel binder is still wet? The idea is that the path or walkway would be easier to see at night, even in low light.
Ace video. Inspiring! What stones are used in this video? If laying a new path driectly on top of a grass lawn, what do you need to place beneath the stones? Hardcore? Or can you get away with just a weed proof membrane?
So underneath your pathway, it should be prepped properly, I personally would tamper the surface down so its nice and strong, then overlay the membrane over it, because the resin only goes on the surface. Cheers
It depends what size pathway you've got, you also have to bear in mind that the sub base should be prepped properly and then pour the resin over the stone! Cheers
That's interesting, I didn't know you could do your own resin. I have a lawn I've wanted to put a path into for a long time but I'm put off by the natural contours, I wont level well. This may be a decent, simple alternative. On your demo, how much resin did you use for that area? Was it the whole container? Is that the 5kg one?
It all depends on how level you can get your stone before you pour the pour on! Because once you pour it on, it's gunna stay that way! So yes level your stone out properly first, thanks!
If laying a gravel driveway using gravel grids, would it be ok to pour this over to give it the wet look and hold the top surface together, or would a car ruin it?
I'm not to sure about it with the gravel dries, I know Sureset do supply gravel grids for below driveways but not sure which type as ive not used them, I'd contact there tec team, they would be able to advise www.sureset.co.uk
Check the side of the can just to make sure, I personally wouldn't do it at full power, if you have to just keep it around 500mm away from the surface and you should be fine
Very tough! This method is just really easy to do, but the other one was really satisfying to lay around bits and pieces such as pipework and slabs etc!
@@MrandMrsDIY I have roughly 3 square metres between my raised composite deck and my garden room. It has a slight raise to one end so thought this would be perfect
If I wanted a similar pathway, but at the same time stop water from infiltrating the stones and the soil underneath, what should I use instead of resin?
you could use more resin to create this style of pathway that will cover the gaps, or you could use their other pathway resin but that will require the water passing through it. cheers
Hello, I’m planning to use bound resin for a patio. I’ve seen conflicting advice about the sub base and wondered if a base comprising 100mm MOT type 1 topped with a well compacted ballast would be okay in this application? There won’t be any vehicle loading. Will I need to prime it?
I wish this stuff was available in Canada. The only stuff available is kids white glue based, turns white when wet, lasts about one month, and is super expensive.
Maybe. Im not very familiar with epoxy resin. I believe since the resin would be poured outside, it would probably need to have some sort of UV resistance because epoxy tends to turn yellow after a while. @runerafell4480
Yes it should do, same prep as the video, make sure your sub base is fine, wash your stones, let them dry then pour on the resin and let it dry! Cheers
We used this one a couple of times and found not worked well www.screwfix.com/p/apollo-heavy-duty-weed-control-50m-x-2m/35551?kpid=35551&cm_mmc=Google-_-Datafeed-_-Outdoor%20and%20Gardening?kpid=KINASEKPID&cm_mmc=Google-_-TOKEN1-_-TOKEN2&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA5-uuBhDzARIsAAa21T_UXx6p35g8mo5xze9WYnbehpD-dME9OtEbYAJfOqdTt_yT4YzsCHkaAnlREALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Nice one Craig, I need to adjust the slope on my drive as it is rather steep, would this product allow you to drive over or can you recommend a tough product. Thanks' Keith.
Very nice! Unfortunately Pour On is only meant to be for pathways and not to be driven on. Sureset do make a resin for driveways (that we will do a video with soon!)
I'm not sure were you get your prices from to feel its expensive, Sureset are very competitive with there pricing and I'm seeing there projects popping up all over the Country.
@@MrandMrsDIY yeah but I also see many gardens like that nowadays, fake grass, masses of unsightly tiling, monocouche flower beds, glass screens and all manner of utterly tacky garden design, void of nature and style!
@@MrandMrsDIY you’d have to be severely crippled or bone idle not to be able to maintain a normal sized garden in UK sized houses, and even the bland lifeless modern garden incarnation would still need maintenance birds shit seeds and seeds grow into weeds. And yes it is an opinion.

Or you can forget all that crap and get it block paved with some nice blocks and have a proper permanent area.!!!!!
Block pavers move with time as they are bedded on sharp sand; ants love to get under them and undermine them

Iv never had any problems whatsoever with ants, settling,or anything else and they’ve been down absolutely years. I spray a little weed killer and then jet spray it once every 2 years. Still level, still looks great. 👍
Yes I've seen Ants look it below your block paving, I took up a couple of our blocks in our drive and found Ant N Dec living under there! @@leestockton9367
This is just a pour on product? Not a resin bound mix so you don't need a barrel mixer, we do have a full installation guide with using it this way on the channel! Cheers!
Alright Jake! So you would have to do the preparation on the sub base first, this would mean putting something like a weed guard or something down underneath first, then pour your stones on top then your pour on resin.
Love this! One of my garden jobs this year is a gravelled area and I’m now tempted to resin it. I’d love more details on the gravel you’ve used? It looks amazing!
I need to attempt this myself, and as a Mum who has used saucepans for putting nails in the wall.. it was very helpful, thank you! I want to use pea gravel, would it work to pour this directly onto sand and onto mud/rubble? Where can I find a list of everything you used please? Watering can attachment and all!
Head strait over to Sureset's website for all the details and products required, there tec team will advise on quantities as well as best practices. www.sureset.co.uk
I bought the prewashed stone and resin bond/bind(?), followed all the rules, and still it didn't bind together. I won't ever use it again. Stones became loose a few months later. I will use the version of resin bound, where the two are mixed together and trowled out for a job in a month's time.
I had a company lay my 130 square meter drive with resin bound gravel. He is now serving a 3 year sentence and disqualified from being a company director for 6 years. He had approx 60 customers in court witnessing against him. The product itself is good but a magnet for moss etc.
Thanks! Us too, really great how the pour on brings out all of the colours, this was the pearl gravel (that had been washed to get the dust off), you can get it from the sureset website, cheers
I love this idea. I want to design this for a poolside patio on a larger scale. Cannot find the watering can. Can you provide specifics, please. Thank you.
Yes you should be okay to do it by a poolside, but I would just double check with a member of the team before doing any prep work! Here's the attachment for the watering can, the can itself is sold seperately! cheers www.sureset.co.uk/product/pouron-applicator-wand/
Looks amazing for the DiYer like myself but ive just been to their website and worked out it would still cost nearly 8k if we wanted to treat our gravel driveway with it. Thats still a bit much. Maybe if the product becomes cheaper in the future. Still a fantastic looking product though 👍
Thanks Johnny! It's not really designed for Driveways though, just pathways! You can use the other resin we have used on other videos for driveways though, going to do a video on that fairly soon!
Would anyone know if I can use this type of resin on my drive, I already have a gravel driveway n hoping to use resin to make the gravel more stable n still be able to use is for the parking of up to 3 cars, thanks ?
Hi, you wouldn't be able to use this on a driveway but you could on a pathway. Sureset also make more resin bound resin products suitable for driveways on their website. Cheers
Hi Mr and Mrs diy 🙂 fantastic video thank you, this helps me as i would like to do this :). Is this suitable to put a light weight garden table and chairs on to sit on now and again? X i hope so coz i love this idea🥰
