Week 5 - Video 1 - Level Easy, Video 2 - Level - Intermediate, Video 3 - Level Advanced
THIS IS THE 3rd video of the 3 parts this Week.
This week we are going to learn how to create a sequins brush (overlapping pattern brush) inside of Adobe Illustrator that is going to have scanned or photographic images inside of it. To do this, we need to create a basic sequins first Video 1 , then create it with divided parts which many designers are satisfied with Video 2, but then really go for it and spruce it up and make it stand out and sparkle Video 3.
It's assumed that you know how to use the Tool Palette and some shortcuts inside of the Adobe Illustrator application. This week choose at what level to come in and let me know if you thought it was indeed easy or advanced?

Hi there, will keep it in mind. Thank you for watching and commenting. In the meantime did you see this one? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WlUOIQ6Y4eU.html it's showing how to reflect a brush. for v neck corners you would usually draw a left and right clipping mask with the brush inside and match the edges at the V center. When I try to save the artwork as a pattern brush, I get the error "the selected artwork contains an element that cannot be used in a pattern brush" even after I've rasterized the selection. Do you have any idea why that would happen? I'm using CS4 - perhaps that version of Illustrator doesn't support this feature? I'm not sure.

Hi Aly, Thank you for watching. In regards to your question: Which version of Illustrator are you using? Raster brushes were introduced in Illustrator CC (maybe 2013). Another thing that happens sometimes is that there is a guide (ruler) that is unlocked and that get's dragged and rejected by the brush panel. Please let me know if that solves your problem?

FashionChalkboard Oh, yeah my version is too old then. I'm using CS4 at work. Thanks for the quick response.
