Affinity it's self could be used to remove background of images.

Mine came out looking pixelated. I’d like to create a silhouette that has the crispness of vector.

Because this is taking pixel based image, the quality depends on the original resolution to maintain crisp results. When you requiring Vector end result, the a possible different solutions is required.
