Alin you are the best!!! Anyone who is self taught like me finds it so frustrating sometimes creating and editing a website. Thanks so so much for your session and support with my page. I can’t believe how easy you made it all look. You have helped me out no end and anyone reading this should honestly consider working with you. I can’t believe I spent so much time and energy when I could of got in contact with you for a consultation and help. I’m absolutely over the moon. All these recordings are so helpful and well taught. Thanks again Róisín
Alin, what an outstanding video so helpful and insightful. I was able to put together and launch my very own mega menu for my e-comm website thank you for all you do!!
Thank you so much I got stuck. I am coming from front page and word press. I am hoping to make this my full time job soon. 2 hours building different sites a nite. So glad I found the video
we dont have this opption right now , but the question is , i am stucking in making a website while a simple things like a sub-sub-menu not available in wix , do you believe that ?
Thank you, great video! Is it also possible to add an arrow next to the menu item, to let customers know that there is a 'hidden ' dropdown menu? On most sites I see that the arrow will point automatically in the correct direction if you push the button.
Hey great question: within your editor you can click on the plus icon and select decorative - add an arrow and grab it into your menu next to your drop down - hope this helps 😇
These mouse over menus' are great, is there a way within wix to do a mouse over image, that then generates text via container? Like instead of it saying "Featured Products" you upload a specific image that you want to have the user mouse over, that then pops text out next to it?
@@AlinBahoWixPartner thank you for the swift reply. I managed to add pages separately from the Mega Menu so mobile has traditional hamburger menu and Desktop have the mega menu but will definitely check out your video when it comes
Awesome video, Alin - I hadn't even realised this feature existed! Solves so many difficulties. Many thanks for posting. Quick question: I notice on your own site at the start of the video that you make use of the full width of the site rather than sticking within the left and right margins. Other sites do the same, without seeming to compromise content visibility. Can you comment on that? Thanks again!
Glad it was helpful! - Here is my honest recommendation on how to address scaling / visibility to your users. We know on Mobile everything will look flawless because of the Mobile Editor and what it let's you do - Now regarding Desktop / Laptop I recommend you build out your website using a small macbook 13' because most users that would be the smallest size screen they would use, thus; everything would fit perfectly on anything larger, Know what I mean? Unless you build in Editor X which is different and fully responsive - This tutorial on how to create a wix mega menu is using the classic wix editor which 90% of users are on. Hope this helps :)
@@AlinBahoWixPartner Thanks, Alin. Yes, I check everything on an old 15 inch laptop to make sure everything is visible there at least, and no complaints so far. I guess the dotted margins are a suggested guide only. Kind regards.
Thanks for the great content!, do you know why is not showing the megamenu option in my app ? Or has that changed ? is there another way to add a container to the menu
You need to make sure you add a wix horizontal menu as shown in my video, you will for sure see it if you open up a blank template, or start a new project from stratch, if you would like one on one help feel free to reach out 😇
Many thanks Alin. Superb video. Clear and direct instructions. Strong sense of design, clean and inspiring visual! You are a great tutor! Subscribed :D 11:11 magic numbers > I wish you the very best 😄 Keep spreading your talent
@@AlinBahoWixPartner Again, it is being a pleasure to watch your tutorials, always on a clean atmosphera with a forward direction. It is more than a Wix tutorial but also a design guidence! Nice to meet you!
Hey be sure to use the exact menu I have here within this wix mega menu video, drop it into your editor, delete it and then re-add it again and you'll see the option :)
Hi Alin, another great video. You are always putting new creative ideas into my brain. This is a newbie working on my first website (the fellow Canadian). My question is: can I use a dynamic page set up in these mega menus? I have service prices and times? (or that may be an ugly design) I am having troubles with attaching my dynamic pages to the menu drow downs. HELP...is there another video for this? Any help is appreciated from your viewers or yourself.🥴
@@AlinBahoWixPartner HI, I really don't need a mega menu. I just want to connect my pages to the menu items. Having some issues with this. Keep looking for videos to see how this is done. AND maybe it has to do with 'publishing'?? I kind of freak out when I see this as I don't want to make the site live> is that misunderstood by me? Thanks for responding.
OMG!!! You legend, this is so mazing and just what I needed to solve a problem of displaying heaps of info and areas of my site., Thank you Alin, thank you!!
that's very nice. But i pressed advanced on my menu, and when i click add item, megamenu option doesn't appeair, its only submenu, anchor, page and link. Why?
Hey Dusty, Try clicking on the + Icon and adding a new horizontal menu like I did within the Editor. This feature is coming to all users within a few days. If you'd like to connect with me feel free to reach out :)
This was super helpful! Great video. I do have a question... So when I started my website, I already had a menu. I was practicing within a blank space on a page and followed along with you. I wanted to make the advanced menu match the design format I had for my original menu, so I could eventually replace the original, but when I clicked design on the advanced menu, and clicked my original design under "my horizontal menus", it got rid of ALL formatting and was just plain text. When I reset it and went back to customize the menu design they had set out, it only gave me the option to customize within the menu container that I had added. Is this a restriction within Wix, or is there a way to go around it?
Do you know if it's possible for the same mega menu to show for each menu item? I want an identical mega menu, but don't want to have to edit 5 different containers each time I need to make changes.
Thank you so much for the great video. You are really addictive in a good way :)) Already subscribed and can`t wait to see the rest of your videos from the beginning. I have one question that is typical woman one :)): How can you edit the font on the horizontal menu that we choose of the beginning of this video or the colour of the font. You are showing changing the text on the container text but I can`t really see option to edit the main menu. Thank you in advance for all you time
Yes default horizontal menu's cannot be turned into a Mega Menu, however if you look into what Menu I used you'll be able to add it and build a mega menu also :)
Thank you, really informative video! hope you don't mind me asking but in that mega menu called 'featured products',the container appears when you hover over the 'featured products' text but is it possible to make the 'featured products' clickable as well ? so it links to another site ?
I was thinking this Mega Menu feature could also serve as a flyout section within a page. I have a few topics on my site that can have a bit of detail to them, but didn't want to just have it all listed on that page. This option allows me to create a menu with those topics and allows the visitor to click on that topic to get more info. Works great for my needs.....EXCEPT, it doesn't seem to be available on mobile. Any thoughts?
I'm glad you enjoyed my wix seo tutorial video, regarding the wix mega menu on mobile it's not yet an option but you can design a pretty good mobile menu by default already 😀
Try scrolling down, Zoom out if your browser doesn't let you see that option. Basically you'll want to right click your Menu and you should see it there - Try re-adding the Menu and let me know I'm on stand by for ya :)
@@AlinBahoWixPartner I'm having the same issue, I've tried everything recommended, new menu, zooming out, it also doesn't work on a new site I create, is this not available in uk yet or do I need to update six or something. thanks
Hi Alin, great help, thank you! Can this be done to an existing website which already have a menu, but not mega? Also for some reason i don't have the same dashboard... many things are missing... do you know why and how to fix it? Thanks so much!
Hi Yes the wix mega menu can be added to an existing website, just follow thos tutorial 😀- wix dashboard your running may be an old version. Thanks for the comment:)
Hey great question, the wix mega menu container auto fits on mobile - but you'll want to make adjustments on the elements you add to the container so you get the best visual :)
Yes this is possible, once you right click your menu click on manage menu, click add new menu item and click link. Glad this wix tutorial has helped :)
@@mauriziocasas1178 Okay you can reach out to me if you have an in-depth question I didn't answer but YES you can have a Link to a page or Menu within your Website Menu - Just click on your Menu and click Add Link. I can help more if we connect.
Hey great question, so if you want to direct people to the Page and also display the wix mega menu drop down you'll need to add a button and it within the container, link that button afterwards to the page. You can by right clicking the Mega Menu and click 'Add" link but that won't open the Mega menu, hope this helps :)
@@3dplockis Correct at the moment there isn't a way by default to set a clickable menu while at the same time having the wix mega menu drop down appear. Now you can do this in velo by wix so consider getting in touch with a wix velo developer who can make this happen for ya :)
Hi Alin, outstanding video! I just subscribe to your chanel. I got one questione for you, on my wix editor page of the menu, the new option "mega menu" doesn't appear. I really can't understand why and i was wondering if you could help me. Thank you very much, Pietro
When creating a mega menu, like products. how do you make it clickable to its page. when you click home it takes you to the page, but when you click on products it doesn't link you to the overall products page. Is it possible to add a link to the mega menu button ?
If you'd like a menu item to go to a specific page you can simply click add page instead of mega menu - you can however within the mega menu drop down add a button within the container and link it to a page - wix mega menus aren't click able their drop downs - so option one adding a page is your best bet 😀
That's a great question I acutally have never tried that😭 the add element on the left within your wix editor should tell you what you can add to your mobile wix mega menu
When clicking on your Menu and selecting settings you'll be introduced to the mega menu pop up, you'll notice a blue button called "add menu item" the only close option for that is submenu title 😇
Is it possible to create a menu where it is split? I am wanting to place my logo in the middle of the page and have the menu go across and be split. In other words, half the menu one side of the logo and the other half on the other side of the logo?
Within your wix editor click on the little add button on the left hand side, scroll down to buttons and add a 4 or 5 buttons to the home page - than name them and grab them into your header at the top and you can move them around 3 on one side and 3 on another 😇
Hey within your Wix Editor click the plus icon and add a stripe to your page. All stripes let you add a photo or video to it and it will be completely full screen from left to right.
Hi , its any solution when you click on product mega menu its open seprate pages & if you scroll mouse at product mega menu hover / flyout is show. There is no option showing to link mega main menu to open particular pages ..please provide solution.
Hey that wix feature is possible using velo and I do believe it can be done within your editor, I'd recommend connect with a wix designer for that via the wix marketplace :)
Make sure you add the exact menu I'm adding in this wix mega menu tutorial and if it doesn't appear open a new editor blank template you'll see it there 😃
What about the SEO with mega menus? The option SEO seems to not appear when advanced menu is activated -Or is there another way, or doesnt matter SEO still works under the "Site Pages" control, while pages still have the same names? -Also! using a Hamburger icon the SEO will still work while the main menu has no words?
Yes that's correct, Wix SEO can be built out using the wix editor under page settings and not related to what you do to your wix mega menu. I'd recommend you check how my wix basic and advanced seo setup video I made :) - your the best have a good day
@@AlinBahoWixPartner Thanks again Alin Baho! Google is known for reading words from header to footer and I thought maybe Mega Menu was somehow under the radar. So understood, SEO can still be managed in page settings and it still counts! I will definitely watch all your videos, so well explained it's more than learning, it's absorbing the whole organized process you share! I will also give you likes and let the commercials run to monetize your effort :D
Yes you can, just delete your current menu, add the menu as seen in this wix mega menu tutorial and click on it. Set menu as advanced menu and you'll notice the mega menu drop down option 😇
Hello...just came across this video, and will be using it to add to my company website. Q: Once clicked does each mega menu remain in place, (so you have to scroll down to see the content behind it? Please advise...thanks, Phil
Yes once you hover over your wix mega menu and use your mouse to scroll down it will stay in place - the backend (website) will scroll down while your mega menu is in place
Try opening up a blank editor, blank template and it should be there, also in your current editor make sure you use the exact menu I showed in this video - it will appear 😇🥳🎨
Me too but I found a solution. You can take a Container, put a text on it, for example "info". right click on the container and add a"Mouse over effekt". now you can edit the Container and switch from "standard" to the "Mouse over menü". There you can add another container which contains the other menu options
hey man, awesome video. But this feature isn't available for me yet, do you know when this will be available for everyone? I've been waiting for 2 weeks haha
Try opening a brand new wix blank template and adding the menu. I'm pretty sure it's rolled out but some old editors may not have it completely rolled out yet - let me or connect with me I'd love to help :)
@@AlinBahoWixPartner after some back'n'forth with the support team, they discovered that you need to delete your existing site's menu, and add a new horizontal menu - for some reason it's not retroactively applied as an option to an existing site's menu, only for new menus.
Really helpful. But you really need to slow down! You are teaching people - not showing off your obvious skills, learn how to teach or stick to 'doing'.
