Thanks for this tutorial! Another hack to add to it is when you’re on the card’s link on your phone in safari, is to click on the box with the arrow at the bottom then click on add to home screen. That way you don’t have to go to your photos and it’s right there for you to click on from your home screen :-)
Hi Brittany, I made one virtual business card while simultaneously watching your video. I added the Facebook and Twitter logos and linked them as well, so multiple links on the card. Aside from downloading as .png I also downloaded as .pdf with clickable links intact. Have two more to do! Thank you for doing this nice tutorial.
@Stephanie Florez Hello! I was was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing why you like this method over a company that provides this service free or paid? Maybe it's just me but I didn't find this method as useful as some of the card making programs I have used.. Thanks for your time..
This is a good idea, I actually created one already a different way, but this is a good alternative. I do political podcasts (conservative). you did great!
Thank you so much for this video! I want my business to as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible so this is a great idea. I also really hate business cards because I’ll either lose them or they just add up and take up space 🙄
Good for you in the first 45 seconds "If you hear a kid bouncing a ball, GET OVER IT! Thats life" That earns my thumbs up before the tutorial even starts.
I was wondering if this was possible. Decided to read through the comments and found some other excellant comments. IE. How to save it in safari instead of pictures...
Yes, you can link to your website, instagram, facebook, tiktok, anything. Even connect to Free hotels restaurants WiFi networks without havind to type any password. I did it for many hotels/restaurants
I really like what you've done here. However, I have one point of friction that I'm hoping you can clear up. The QR code generated inside Canva takes the viewer to a Canva login page first. Not directly to my card. Am I missing something here? I want those scanning the code to go direct to my card, not have to stop and login to Canva. How do I avoid this?
This is great, thanks so much! Quick question, when they scan the code and are taken to the website, does the virtual card automatically download to their phone or do they need to add the site to their favorites/bookmarks? I'm just trying to understand how they store the card. Thanks!
Thank you this is awesome! Question, how do I save my card & link, I lost my work because I closed out too soon. A tip I found is we can hit the "lock" icon to prevent any card design changes 100%
Can you change or update the info on the card and still have it save to the same URL each time (so that those with your card saved from previous see the updates when they click it in the future)?
sorry I didn't get back sooner but the answer is YES! it updates in realtime and I have canva links that i've been sharing, using and updating for YEARS! such as the freebies on my website brittanynew.com/freebies that I update and people get the updates using the same links when I do. this applies for the business card or any canva design.
I just liked and subscribed I think you have great content and I love the way you speak clearly and your speech is not rushed. A lot of people speak like they have marbles in their mouths. I wish you the best of luck.
I don't even have a business or side hustle but those 5 reasons in the beginning have me sold! 🤣 I'm now going to design templates for my future business(es) cards! great vid, had to sub 😊
Hi! This is a great video, so glad I watched it. Also, I write books for other people and I am a book editor, and motivational speaker, and this will come in handy. Great job!!!!!
Thanks alot! You're awesome! Funny story, one of my clients just released a new romantic comedy called, A Princess Doesn't Kiss Frogs, it is hilarious, and packs a tight punch on love. Keep up the great work!!!!🤗
Ummm if it scans into your phone. Does it go to calendar and have a follow up on the contact that was put in? Second can it be done to be put in on a workflow for your project, family event?
Thank you for the tutorial. I have my first appointment for a new client today. And, I just realized that I never received my biz cards for “this” side business. 🤦🏽♀️ This should work perfectly! Thanks again!
Thank you for the video! I just wanted to add that you can also save this to your Apple Watch face if you have that and that’s another easy way for people to scan your QR code without having to fumble for their phone.
I made a pins with the QR code that I wear on my shirt, and people just have to "scan" me. That's funny as hell, because many people ask me why I have a QR code on my shirt. I make more sales since... ^^
Brittany, thanks for the informative tutorial. I help people transform anger and fear into creative energy and I want to upload my picture on the front of my virtual business card, how do I do this please?
Hi Angela! You can just simply and drop your photo from your computer onto the business card file and it will upload to Canva automatically! :) Hope this helps!!
Hi there Brittany New, Thabang Khatide here. I'm from South Africa. I'm a young Entrepreneur and Businessman. I run a scooter touring company that I've just started in Pretoria. Thanks so much for this tutorial. Super easy and well elaborated on. I couldn't have chosen a better video to learn how to add that QR code onto a business card. I'll definitely be on the look out for more of your hacks and content in general. Much appreciated and much love from this side.
Thank you for this tutorial, heading to make mine one now!. I've been using canva for creating the thumbnails for my videos, it's always good to learn something new 😊
Hi Javonne, it should also work from a mobile device, but I didn't mention in the video that I think only iPhones have the QR code scanner automatically built into the phone camera. Android phones have to use a QR code scanning app. Hope that helps!!
Thanks Brittany, I was trying to make a business card to print, but decided to make a digital one as well, and your instructions helped me a lot. I am trying to figure out how to make the phone and email clickable as well. Do you know? Thanks again!
Hi Patricia! I'm not sure about the phone number clickable, but to make the email clickable, you can create a link using this website: mailtolink.me/ and you can pre-write the email subject line and use that unique link as the URL for your email to direct people to! Great question and I hope that works for you!
Wow, fantastic video - and yes seems like everyone is looking to move away from paper cards given the current situation... i'm curious about one thing in your process, when you save as a website on Canva, what is it saving as? is it a simple HTML file that's hosted on Canva's servers?
Hi Phil. If you like virtual business cards you should try Bonder.app (www.bonder.app). You can create and share many vcard business cards using one QR code. One code - many language versions. Give it a try!
I ordered a Tappy card and it never got to me. So I emailed them, they said they resent me a new card, then I received credit back on my card. Why would they refund me after sending me out a new card? Is that it so I get no card? There is no phone number on the website (as least I couldn't find it. Not saying it's a scam But damn Bruh!? Going to try this.
Thank you, Brittany. You have been a great help. I am starting my business and need business cards. God led me to your video, and I have been truly blessed. I will be creating my business card shortly, and I will let you know/show you how it turned out. May God bless you a million times over.😊
I'm so happy I came across this video! I'm an Author/Purity Coach and wanted to create a QR code that directed potential clients to my business landing page which has direct links to my services, and this tutorial is the perfect option! Instead of linking to the Canva site, I linked to my business landing page since I'll be printing these and sharing from my phone. Thanks so much! 💖
I would upload a qrcode I can have access to update any time. I would add a QRPOP.NET sticker to my phone and then people could use nfc or QR Code to see my card.
My name is Billy Scoggins and I am trying to make a virtual business card like you did, however I am using a laptop and I am watching on a android tablet everything doesn't look the same... I need more than a tutorial to show me how to use canva... help me please...
Did I do it wrong?, at a local Mexican restaurant I put my virtual business card in the fishbowl in hopes of winning a lunch. Will the return my phone once the drawing is over? Carrying a desktop everywhere I go go to watch youtube is getting annoying...... I miss my phone...
Hi Brittany , Thank you for your informative tutorial. When I add the website url and try to create a link, I do not see the APPLY button. How do you get the APPLY button?
