Fun fact with the phantom spawner that I discovered: You can adjust the boundary height of the phantom so that it doesn't drop as low to the ground. Super helpful when space is a little tight!

My barrier is getting troops to spawn when a player walks into an area but aren't there when a player isn't to allow for more AI elsewhere. Ideas?

​​@@ObstacleRaceI'd make them "trigger by script" in their object settings. Then trigger them to spawn troops there with a script. I don't have a super strong grasp of the specific scripts you'll want, but yeah. Something like that should work with the right scripts.

Yes, AI do take fall damage @@EwokHunter27. And as a funny little thing you can do you can grow the area of the phantom down vertically, and then place the phantom far up in the air. As long as the are is touching the navmesh below it, it will spawn and it will drop its troops at the height of the blank white phantom that represents the squad spawner. It looks like the pilot just flew in and booted the troopers out the door and make them fall with a splat. Kind of a sick chuckle sort of thing, but funny nonetheless. 😆 I've been experimenting with the campaign AI on my channel in my live streams if you want to come take a look. I'm making a MOBA game mode.

One thing I notice about the AI Zone Move is that if they attack you they will not get out of that area they are set to and they'll try to shoot from a far when you're out of that zone so what I did to let them chase you is by creating a AI Master Zone which covers a big area or the whole map and how to set it is by having the AI Spawner link to the AI Move Zone if you want them to go to a specific location on the map and then have the AI Move Zone link to the AI Master Zone which is the AI Move Zone that covers the whole map and it allows the AI to pursue you around the map when you're trying to flee the area but since the Master Zone covers the whole map they'll chase you around the map and it makes the AI more lively

If you guys are having problems and it says “compare node not built successfully” or something like that just connect Queue size to both Operand A and B instead of just A

You’re a life saver I spent forever trying to make a decent firefight map but wanted a basic straight to the point simple method for doing things and yours works perfectly same as your last AI video you covered. And through that I’ve nav meshed BTB maps people have made left their credits of course and added PvP ai to their maps allowing people new ways to try them.

25:05 setting the compare to 0 checks the wave queue to see if it is empty. If there are 0 items in the queue and there is no active wave, then you have beaten all waves.

Personally when I was trying to figure it out through trial and error what messed me up was having to put the spawns in an object list. It's refers to a spawn list... I spent so much time looking for a spawn list script like an idiot. Wonderful video thank you!

This video was extremely helpful, thanks! I have my waves spawning smoothly now and I can tie the waves in with the Extraction mode. I did run into an odd problem though; I was forging last night, putting the finishing touches on the 2nd wave. When I ran the mode in custom games, it spawned everything flawlessly, including the marines that spawn to fight the Banished. After the Banished died, it spawned the next wave, no issues. I booted it up today, added a third wave and when I ran the custom games, it now counts one squad of marines as part of the enemies to kill but not the other squad. It essentially soft locks the wave since I have friendly fire turned off. I’d rather not have to kill friendlies, not sure what has broken

Hmmm that is strange. I'm not sure what is happening. I guess double check to make sure the Banished are also on the same squad (like Alpha or whatever) as the marines

What about player traits like over shield melee power running speed and player hp is there a way of changing all that like in reach firefight or will that be coming with the official firefight mode midseason?

There are nodes for adjusting player traits, but from what I understand we'll be getting some comprehensive firefight settings once it launches.

The one time when learning something in class is applicable in your day-to-day life unlike some other things e.g. quadratic formula. I guess learning about flowcharts and classes/ objects does have its merits outside of the workspace.

AI in forge is amazing, most people are gonna make PvE stuff but I’m thinking about how can we add AI to older custom games? Imagine castle wars running along the bridge to the flag but you have elites with energy swords running with you on your team? Gonna be amazing

Great video and thank you for the prefab! I am having an issue where the bots all spawn in correctly, but they will not leave the spawn area. They will fire at me but they stay in a small area. I have built the nav mesh, any idea what I have missed?

Hey man I've been using this for a while for all my builds lol, but do you know how to run 2 or more script brains simultaneously? I'm trying to have several banished outposts all throughout my map with their own re enforcement that come in after you start fighting with them but I can't seem to get more than one base to have re enforcement. Nothing else spawns in. Thank-you for all your health

great tutorial. i noticed when set up like this as soon as you kill the last enemy the next wave spawns. i tried adding the wait N seconds between but it doesnt seem to work. im thinking that is what the intermission wave is for.

I do know there is a known glitch with "Wait N Seconds" where sometimes it doesn't work. So that might be your issue because that should work. Hopefully a fix will come soon!

Does anyone know why my enemy spawns are doubled from the AI spawners I tried to make a spawner spawn two brute minors and a brute captain instead it spawned four brute minors and two brute captains any fixes?

I have 2 waves, each wave has 4 rounds of waves so to speak, and I would like a message to appear when wave one ends and when wave two starts, but the UI messages always appear when starting the game, one after another, how can I fix it? HELP 😢

I am currently trying to have spawners on the map only be triggered when the specific squad that comes from it dies. I want a specific amount of certain AI and have all the spawners set to different squad labels. The "On Squad Remaining Percent" works to trigger it when it only linked to one spawner. As soon as there are 2 or more, when one squad dies (0% remain) ALL spawners are triggered. Is there a way to fix this? I have tried have them count as separate waves but the map can only have one wave active at a time. I believe the issues lies in the "On Squad Remaining Percent" node as there is not a way to specify what squad needs to be killed to meet the criteria to active spawner. So when one squad dies ALL instances of "On Squad Remaining Percent">"Trigger AI Spawner" activate.

You just need to check and build each of those like the nav mesh. Those are required to be built in order to publish your map

Can anyone help? I’ve been trying to make a firefight map got everything up and running but for some reason everytime I play it at some point it says unstable packet loss. Or the ai freezes along with the game and eventually it resumes. It’s so annoying!! I’ve tried everything. Nothings working. Please help

I am very moved to see your efforts in AI scripts, but I still have a huge question. How can I generate a completely different set of monsters by monitoring the survival percentage of the remaining AI? This has a huge and fatal impact on the rhythm of the battle.

This video was great to get me started, but unless I missed it is there any possible way to make the waves loop endlessly? If I had wanted to make a sort of lone wolf type of mission from Reach, where the waves spawn until the player dies or the match ends is that possible?

1. Hold Y 2. Make sure there's space, other than that its almost the same as a normal spawner.

@@Ducain_Plays yes I did exactly this. But the phantoms still didn’t spawn in on a big open forge canvas. I don’t understand why they aren’t.

So i have a problem with volume spawning, i set it so that ai spawns when player exits a volume, but it gets bad in multiplayer, 3 players passing the volume spawn 6 hunters and it’s excessive, how can i cap it or give it a cool down?

There are nodes that let you cap how many are on the field at once. Not yet sure how they specifically work, but the options there.

I wonder if using something like Wait could help with that, having the code wait some significant amount of time after executing would essentially be a cool down, but I've got no clue

When Im testing in forge it spawns all of the AI at once for me, I am using the exact script you showed and used the prefab you made.

Figured it out. Make sure the ai spawners is set to spawn during script instead of default, like he shows in the video. BUT also select the script brain that spawns in with the prefab and go to options and make sure the script brain select team is turned on to the corresponding team.

Great tutorial thank you! Would love to see a tutorial on how to set up a way to earn points per wave and use those points/score to buy guns / equipment) like the cod zombies forge remake). Would also need a way to display said points…(on screen in between waves or on the map itself) Could also use those points to: -build cover or construct turrets / power ups - call in a squad of friendly marines/ elites/ spartan bots also, if those tutorials have been done already, could someone please point me in the right direction with a link?

Thanks so much for the tutorial! Question - for some reason, my movement zones are completely glitched out, my spawners won’t stay linked. Any ideas for how to fix this?

Ty D this helped a lot. I’m still trying to work out tho; 20:18 does anyone know how to make it so when everyone in wave 1 dies, it will restart wave 1? I just want a simple way to basically respawn all enemies in an AI spawner when they are all killed.

How can I add a timer between AI reinforcement in the same wave ? Example ( 2 Phantoms drops soldiers and one another Phantom drop soldiers 60 seconds later in the same wave. )

I know there is a delay in the spawner settings. So maybe you can put that up to 60 and get what you want. I haven't tried it so I'm not sure, but I think it might work

Already tried it. The timer from the spawners settings is not longer working so every AI spawner works in same time.

That means you are on a dev map and that isn't available on those maps. You need to be on a Forge canvas 🙂

Whenever I go into a custom game with this, I can't lose. I'm not sure why. If I die, it still just makes me win anyways.

@@Ducain_Plays cool, I have been trying to get this to work and I can't get it to work, I have AI on both eagle and cobra and want the AI on each team to only respawn when the squad dies but they just end up spawning more ai's then what i wanted

@@Ducain_Plays it's really weird cause I have 1 AI on each team and have it set up where the AI will spawn when it dies but I kill the enemy AI and it spawns another AI on my team even though the original AI on my team has not died yet
