Tough love here...I'm really stuck on the car situation. That is an INSANE car payment, only $17 less than your mortgage per month! The subscriptions are a lot too but honestly they are nothing compared to the car. Obviously I don't know the whole story but selling it would improve your situation tremendously. Love the videos, excited to see your journey in 2024!
I think it’s crazy how you guys are trying to get out of debt and get in a better financial situation, but are still keeping the same spending habits. We are a family of 6, and spend $300 every 2 weeks on food. $1200 a months for 3-4 people is a lot of food money 😅 also 20k a year on random spending is also so much. I know you don’t like the word “sacrifice” but something has to change, Or you will be right back spending on credit cards. Subscriptions need to go. You’re spending SO much money on useless subscriptions. You guys definitely have a lot of areas that could be improved, but you have to be willing to go without some things to make the big changes in the long run. You can’t just “want change” but not be willing to do anything different. Just my 2 cents 😅
I am a new subscriber. Thank you for doing this. I printed out your worksheet and followed it. I could not believe after writing out how much debt I’m in and how much of a negative I am in. I have a lot of work to do and a lot of cutting out to do, I did not realize thisuntil I did your worksheet thank you so much it opened my eyes😊
I do an annual budget but I always leave out the income. I tend to get raises here and there around January so I then go back in to add my income around February. I keep it as a Google sheet and it was eye opening how much I spent this year on food alone. I started this year and I will definitely keep it up.
38:24 The Budget Mom doesn’t include a monthly budget in the workbook because she said it didn’t make sense to her. Budgeting by paycheck is what did. But she probably failed to realize it works for others & it would be nice to include it. If you do not use all your paycheck budgets sheets, you can modify it and use the first paycheck budget page for your “monthly budget.”
I was taught in my accounting that a business should be tailored to your audience and not " the person in general.Example we open a business based on the needs of our customers and not me- but what ever works for the TBM and why she feels that it makes no sense to her- only she knows for own personal use.
You asked for feedback - After reviewing your yearly spreadsheet this is what I see and please correct me where Iam seeing it wrong. "Missing fixed mortgage monthly pmts", that you pay monthly, anything that does not change that you pay on a monthly basis would be in that block. Fixed- anything that is a Set Amount - its different from variables- this changes" It Varies". The total in the fixed section would then total $10,1246.64- If I would add the monthly mortgage that you pay @$1338.98. Please advise.
