Hello Michael, I started watching your videos in July 2021and they are amazing I am definitely making app that stores documents (like a report). Just wanted to know which component should I use. And what functionality should I use to store a document in the database?

Happy to read that Baxxy 😊 In Adalo's Database, you can create a Property of type "File". With that you can upload documents in there. Having said that, it is limited in how many GB your whole app can store: www.adalo.com/pricing Unfortunately you cannot upload files to 3rd party databases with Adalo. So for example, upload to Xano.com or S3 or something that can store a lot of data.

@PROFANITY, thanks man! You can always go to the database tab of your Adalo app and see all users there. For analytics (time spent etc) Adalo offers an integration with MixPanel, really good user tracking and analytics platform.

Great video! Subscribed!! I want to make an App that advertises for participating restaurants, bars, etc. The front page will advertise content for these places. The user will have the option to then click, order, & reserve a seat before getting there. Like a Grubhub or Doordash but in reverse. Does this make since? Hi Michael, I like your videos a lot. I am working on an app, where users can upload their videos. The problem is that I don't want the videos to be saved in Adalo storage. Is there a way to store them in external storage like AWS?

Well, that is tricky with Adalo. It does not have an easy way to upload large video files. But it's doable. Check this video from Adalify: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SihDlKCCGXM.html It's not easy but it's doable at all using Adalify. When using this method I suggest creating a Collection for Video Files and add an entry per Video File to that Collection. Link that Video File Collection to your Post and you are good to go. Videos are tricky because they are not only huge but also streaming them to your users can cost quite some money (for Adalo) over time. So not many platforms are ready for that yet.

That is very strange. The issue sometimes happens when Adalo forgot that you are actually logged in. Logout and back in with a user from your Database and you should be good. Let me know. I will check the Clonable App now and fix if there is anything wrong.

@@A7Lopez Makes sense. For that you need to add "External Collection" to Adalo (needs paid plan) and this way you can GET and POST images into your Adalo app.

Is it possible to include a payment/subscription/rating system into the app made with adalo? Im considering to try this for an mvp. If video uploads are possible I could go with the business version but I'm not sure if video upload is a possibility? Any help would be highly appreciated:)

Yes payments are possible by using the Stripe Extension from the Adalo Marketplace (it's free to use and works nice). Video uploads are possible but you will reach the limit of Adalo storage fast. So I don't recommend it. Instead, upload Videos onto Amazon S3 (or use backendless.com for that - also No-Code) and reference to that video via an URL instead of uploading it into Adalo. Video handling is always special because videos are big. Most platforms keep them in a special storage.

@The dudebro Yo, I can imagine, that limit is pretty low. I use backendless.com to store my data and use Adalo only to display that data by making an API call to Backendless and fetching the data in real-time. Sounds good but is a bit more complex to set up. You want a video where I show how this works, or did you figure it out in the meantime?

Hi! How do I create a "edit profile" form that will not erase the user's previous input whenever user click on the "edit" button. My setup according to the video would erase the data if I don't fill out anything the second time clicking on the "edit button"

I think you need to pre-fill the form with the data from the database when showing it to the user. The user can then edit the infos needed and click save.

At about the 20 min mark of this tutorial you show how to create a profile screen for a user that we are following. We would get to this screen by clicking on the image in a post in the Explore screen. And so you say that we can refer to the user that owned the post that we clicked on to get there. I think you called it a "click from" user. I don't seem to have that option to choose the "clicked from" user. Has something changed with Adalo since this video was created that no longer allows you to select that the user that you clicked from? Is there another way to do this?

Good question I will add this to my video list to create a follow up video on these. Bio is easy to do though: 1) Add a new Text Property to the Users Collection called "Bio" 2) Create a screen with a Form on it, where the user can edit their Bio (it's easier than it sounds). As for user email verification it's trickier - so I will make a video about it :)

Thanks mate :) You can use the “Created Date" that Adalo saves for you for each post stored in your Collections (Database). In any Text area simply use the "Magic Text" and select "Current Post -> Created Date". This should do the trick. Let me know.

at 13:30, I can't post photos, I see the photo when I find it on my computer but after I hit post nothing is shown on the home screen. Additionally the description I wrote doesn't show up, it just says "@" at the bottom. I can see the profile picture I posted , however if I try to post the same picture as my profile pic as a post, it doesn't post. I have tried to view it on other devices and get the same result. Additionally, if I check the database, I can see all of the photos. So why don't they show up in the posts? Other than this issue everything else seems to be working fine.

Hi Deepak, Adalo does not allow to upload videos yet. You can show videos that you have uploaded somewhere else first. But your users cannot upload videos.

hello, first of all, thank you for making a nice and informative video and for your hard work. I have a question, I did the same as you did, but people can message each other, but I want them to see who they've been messaging so far. i.e. I want it to be a message box. like adalo chat please add this to your own column🙏🏻Bon appetit for all the coffee you drink.😊

Hi THANK YOU :) Did you check this video out? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-duJwoB51OU0.html With this method you can easily create a Screen and Show all "Chatrooms" the user is in and by clicking on one Chatroom, you can go to a new Screen showing only the messages from that Chatroom (like WhatsApp, Telegram etc.).
