Let's learn how to create an invitation card in Word
Page Settings
On the main menu click on Layout
Now in margins select Narrow
In Size select A5
Designing the invitation
In the main menu click on Design. Then in page color, Select the color you want.
Let’s add some shapes. In the main menu go to Insert then in the Shapes section choose a circle. Now drag and draw your circle pressing the Shift key to keep the circle proportional.
Now in the Shape Format section you can change its color by clicking on Shape Fill. Here choose the color you want.
Let's remove the online by clicking on Shape Outline and clicking on the No outline option.
Now let's duplicate the shape by pressing Ctrl + D. For the duplicated circle let's change its color too. Also let’s resize the circle by pressing in the center of it and then dragging one of the corners to make it smaller or bigger . Great!
Now let’s create a custom shape. Go back to the insert tab, then click on Shapes. In the lines category choose: curve. The cursor now is a cross. Click and start moving the mouse creating the curves as you want and at the end be sure to close your shape in the same point where you started. For this shape let’s change its color and eliminate the outline following the same steps we did with the circles.
Adding Text
In the main menu go to insert, then Textbox and here select the Draw Text Box option. Now Draw your box wherever you want.
In the Shape format section, let’s remove the background and the outline by clicking on: No fill then on No Outline.
Write your text. In the Home tab you can style it by changing: the font, size and color among other things.
For the next text let’s just duplicate it by pressing CTRL + D.
Once you duplicate it you can style it too. Or if you want to make it smaller or bigger, use the handles in the corners.
Adding images
You can add the images you want. But for this design let's add a QR code with a rounded outline. To do it go to the insert tab. Select shapes then select the rectangle with rounded corners. In the shape format section click on the shape fill then select: Picture. Of the options available click on From file. The file explorer is opened. Let's choose the QR code then click on the insert button. In the shape format section let’s select :No outline
Finally let's resize the image by dragging one of the handles. Then position it in the center.
Save your invitation:
To save your invitation, Go to File and click on the Save As option.
Select where you want to save it then type the name of your file and select PDF in the save as type field. Then click on the save button. As a PDF you can send it electronically or print it and send it to whomever you want.
Surely your next invitation will stand out for its quality. Subscribe to the Burn to Learn channel and continue learning with us!
