Beautiful job! It looks like Rita uses analogous color schemes a lot. Instead of an entire page being a single analogous color scheme (red-orange-yellow), with each one of those colors having their own lights and darks, she is making each element of the page have its own color scheme! Very dynamic. 🌈
Omg u just solidified yourself as one of my top 3 fave colorists on the whole internet with this vid 😂 I love how meticulous and informative this vid is! I learned a lot bc u gave an explanation for everything! will try these combos in her Asia trip book now!! ☺️☺️
Wow this was so helpful. Your style of informative instruction while keeping room for individual creativity is so fun I love it. I'll look forward to your wrap up to see the sparkle on this page! 🤩
Love Ritas coloring, you executed it beautifully! All pencils have both wax and oil, its just that Prisma is more heavy on the wax and Polys are more heavy on the oil :)
Great video! Thank you for doing this! I’m going to have to watch again and try some of these combos myself. Your examples and explanations are so helpful!
Wow! I was wondering for the longest time how to do this "whimsical" coloring style, as I call it. Thank you so much! I would never dare to put a dark purple on a yellow....😂...I will now. Stay blessed❤ Tamara
This is just the most informative and such helpful video with structured information i needed. Really appreciate your effort doing such a great job! Thank you so much! I do colour Rita Bermans books in similar style but it is more intuitively not knowing what I am doing... Beautiful colouring as always! Thanks a lot for the video! ❤
It's a kind of magic. It worked perfectly and your page look like ine of Rita Berman herself. Thank you for the tip of the cheat sheet: useful for other colourists too. Cheers from Italy. Dan 🧡
I can't wait to try this in my Johanna Bassford book. Thanks for breaking this down. Your work is beautiful. The only thing I won't be doing is the water color base. I have them but will cut that step out. ❤ 😊
Great video 😄 can’t wait to try some of these techniques, have been wanting to incorporate more interesting color combinations and this made it seem a little less intimidating 😄✨
Great video! i love Rita's colorful and whimsical style. It is so cheerful. Your pages reflect the same whimsical style.💜 I am definitely going to try some of these combinations. My pages always turn out too realistic or even bland. hehe
Great tutorial, informative but fun at the same time. You inspired me to pick up my pristine copy of the book and try to push myself into a completely new style of colouring. Keep up the great work! ❤❤❤
Soooo..... thanks for the combos!! They look amazing 😍 I've already matched my 120 and 180 sets to each other. Hmmm.... guess I'm investing in a 160 set as well 🤣🤣 I'll use the "there's no open stock" as an excuse 😜
Such an awesome video! Really enjoyed how clear you made it. I’ve been struggling to get started in a Rita Berman for nearly a year…. Hopefully this breaks the ice! Thanks again 😊
Hi hun what a lovely video it’s so great to see so many Aussie colourists around now.. I’m up in Townsville north QLD.. thank you for sharing ❤❤❤😊😊😊xxxx
I gonna try this out but I might try using castle arts pencils or Arrtx or another budgeting style, you put the watercolour pencil on your pages first remind me what set u use, also did you add water ? To activate the colours?
I used a budget watercolor pencil brand from Australia called Born! But if you don’t live in Australia, any budget pencil set will do the trick! And yes, I used a water brush to activate the pencils 🥰✨
I use the Born Watercolour Pencils which are a budget brand from Officeworks here in Australia. But if you’re in another country, any budget watercolour pencil set will do the trick!
love this video, im looking to buy some new colouring pencils but don't want to spend a fortune. these pencils seem to have a lovely choice of colours. I wonder if you can tell me if they are good for small detailed colouring. I like to colour Johanna Bashford books which have many small images and I get annoyed if the pencils are too thick a nib and go out of the lines. can you advise me please. I use Staedtler ergosoft pencils but wanted to get more colours. thank you. xxx
