@@LILLITHEBESTFRVERJust because it’s small doesn’t mean it’s young, it’s probably multiple years old. I know because I grow bonsai, mainly canadian natives and tropicals.

@@darcycooley4327just cause it’s planted in something small doesn’t mean it won’t live, trees grow in nutrient poor gaps on the mountain side all the time in the wild, I know cause I live in the laurentian mountains. I also grow and make bonsai in many small pots. To answer your question, probably multiple years if they took proper care of it. (e.g. pruning roots in the winter, fertilizing, watering)

They are very pretty but the problem when they are that small is they can dry out very very quickly. If cannot forget about them. They need attention or automatic sprinklers. At least over here in America where we dont have a rainy season like Japan.

No it is not regular soil. It's a coarser bonsai soil that is highly draining. You can buy bonsai soil online, or make yours at home by mixing one part regular garden soil and one part perlite and, depending on what regular garden soil is like in your place, one part sand. If your garden soil is clumpy and clayey, like soils in the more tropical regions, add sand too.

Keep it outdoors or it will die. Bonsai are not house plants or indoor plants. Strictly outdoor unless you have a tropical tree.

Chinese elm, you have to constantly prune and water a small one like this, quite hard to take care of if you can’t keep a house plant alive. Keep it strictly outdoors. This tree is probably 5-10 years old.

I really want one now, I’ve always loved miniatures of anything idk why but as a child i would collect little charms and tiny things and keep them in my pocket so obviously bonsai is for me LOL maybe i can order one online, my local garden centers arent the best i have to travel to get decent plants. 5-10 years old is wild! What did this one cost? I’ve planted a bunch of seeds for bonsai and i know how painstaking it is to start from such a small specimen . Love the pot too ! Are these local to you i would like to order some for my tiny things obsession and my bonsai babys🤣🤣 I’m up every night pruning and watering my plants i cant even get to the window anymore theres so much lush greenery

first learn to take care of them, it’s not easy, water every 12-24 hours, keep strictly outdoors, keep in a bright but shaded location, etc. The tree you’re looking for is Chinese Elm, that one is probably 5-10 years old.

Don't do that all types of technics for making bonsai , that tree do struggle alot to survive , its be like when you bring a parrot and put in Cage. Humans are so hardy and sens less .
