I love how you guys share and support your software. It makes sense to support amateurs because they're likely to follow your product, unlike Adobe who pretty much throw the tools at you and you have to find it out yourself!

These look great! Although if you search for 'BakersTuts Automatic Smooth Transitions', that's what I would like to know how to do in HitFilm. There's a mirror repeat tiling effect he uses that I've not been able to find in HitFilm.

It's a great software. I really recommend it for advanced beginners to intermediate editors. It has great features, and eventually you can get HitFlim's paid softwares once you've mastered the free version. You can change the layout to your flexibility, export/import presets, do composite editing, and so much more! Good luck!

A more efficient way of doing the technique at 2:58 is to use the Shake effect and turn the amount down to 0.

Sandu Onu If you mean the lower third, do a RU-vid search for "Inscape Digital." That's a RU-vid Hitfilm Tutorial channel that did a recent lower third tutorial similar to the one used here. Also www.inscapedigital.com/presets has free templates for download, including a similar lower third.

Solid tutorial! Surprised me twice, using the regular blur, set to vertical only. Thought for sure Axel would use angle blur or motion blur. Great use of TV damage! Ah, I have many tutorial outtakes where the cat is being annoying. My favorite is when Scott figure-8s around the mic stand causing rumble...

Axel, another great tut!! Now that we have created this how would we make it a resource that we could add to our library as a transition that could be used as a transition for any to clips? How would we reference video clips NOT in the comp? I have 17 pro

cyberjetx that requires a bit more setup. Basically instead of putting the videos directly in the Composite Shot, you make "media holder" Composites for the video clips then bring them into another Composite Shot as embedded comps. Then set up the transition. Once that is set up you can delete the video (put different colored planes in your media holder comps if you want a placeholder visual reference. Save this as a project. Now you can use the "Import Composite Shot" option to load this into any other project. Then just put your video clips in the media holders and the animation is ready to go.

Hi, we don't have a melting effect within HitFilm however if you use the 'Leave Color' effect this will allow you to select one color to pop while leaving the rest of the show black and white. - Oli (HitFilm Staff)

How can i attach/parent an effect (bulge) to a tracker I've made for someone's face? i cannot figure this out. thanks for any help.

Once you've tracked the face you need to apply the track to a Point Layer. Once the Bulge effect is applied to a layer, go into the controls panel and twirl open the submenu for "Center." Set the Position values to 0,0, then go down to the "Use Layer" drop-down menu and select the Point you've assigned the tracking data to. Done!

I got multiple clips together, im trying to highlight or isolate, cut out, slice out, snippit out, delete, remove, certain segments like the beginning and endings of the clips that I have put together on the time line. I dont know what the right word for it is. So reiterate, I need to know how to pick out just the parts i want to remove and keep the parts i like. Does anyone know what im trying to ask and how to do it?

In HitFilm 4 Express, there aren't any audio visuals. However, you can buy the 'Audio-Visuals Pack' from the Add-On market and export it to HitFilm 4 Express.

The preset we used is no longer available. However, inScape Digital has recreated the effect which can be downloaded here: www.inscapedigital.com/presets/ called 'Lower Third - inScape Digital' - Oli (HitFilm Staff)

I agree. I would have appreciated having seen this done in the timeline too. I can't get this to work on an already edited project where my videos are already at the correct time stamps for synced audio.

It's a combination of camera tracking, still text, 3D text and position animation. All the tutorials are out there. I'd just look for the camera tracking videos and go from there.

Track parts of the person. Use the text to follow the tracking. Watch their video on how to do the blurring on moving people. And you should be able to do it,

no offense, but you can do such transition via newblue in several clicks. Looks pretty basic to be honest

No denying it's a pretty basic effect, but, remember, there are a lot of users of the software who are beginners and still need this kind of hand-holding. :-) Hitfilm Pro users have the option of just purchasing and using the NewBlue transitions. For Express users, they have to build this look.
