In 5 videos, I've learned way more than I did during my +30 hours Photoshop course. I might be finally ready to take the Ps certification test. Thank you sooooo much
I’m becoming a fan. I must say that this day’s topic was a little overwhelming. I had to back up and retry a couple of times to keep up with you. Truthfully, I think the topic of selections should be at least 2-3 classes, especially for us true beginners. Once I get through these 30 days of Photoshop, I’ll watch some of your other videos on Selections. Whew!
I had to rewatch it and take notes because I got confused half way in the video. I think selections are something the requires practice to get good at but it’s important to know.
Agreed... I think Day 5 is going to take 5 days. I plan to go through the 30 days, circle back and work with my own images referencing the videos, plus my note taking. Hopefully after repetition and consistency it all comes together. I can see the potential but just can't get there yet.
Been using Photoshop for 20 years and took this course because it’s always changing! Love it! I’m sure I won’t comprehend/use all immediately but this is great.
phew. Definitely got a little lost in the color range part somehow with my layer mask not being inverted properly! Learning a ton-I know because it makes my brain hurt and work!! Thanks for helping me build some new photoshop muscles. I'll definitely have to revisit this lesson.
Thanks for phlearning with us! We offer special discounts for accredited schools. So, if your professor ever thinks PHLEARN could be a helpful resource for his classes, be sure to mention it to him!
Holy cow. I have been muddling around with PS for years now, but have never had a really systematic overview of it. Going through this series is really filling in some blanks for me and has been crazy helpful. Terrifically clear instruction on the fundamentals. Thank you so much!!
I am following the 30 days religiously! This class is intense but it is just great as it. it took me 2 hours to complete and repeat. Thank you for creating this whole program, Aaron! You are the best!
Excellent work, as always Aaron. One thing, it might be nice to see selections working on more complicated backgrounds...they always seem to be a nice clean backgrounds.
a tip when taking photo outside if u know u will photoshop then take one photo with mountains streets at the back and one with a plain background (calops techniques for not time wasting on cutting subject from difficult or should i say busy background) so remember always take two photos of a subject 1. with a clean or less background noise 2. with background.
I'm from Viet Nam and I have been searching for many youtube videos in my language but there were rarely advanced and useful guides like your channel, these help me so much in photography editing . Thanks again for your sharing heartily!
This comment is to help the algorithm to show support and appreciation for the eloquent work you are doing, I am extremely thankful to you and your team.
Hii Aaron. I just want to tell you how thankful I am for your series. It has been a different time. I haven't been working since my country went on lockdown and for that time being, I have decided to learn skills different from the type of work I 've been doing. I work as a room attendant in a hotel and I thought that it's time for me to transition to a new career given these changing times. There are lots of tutorials on the web and at some, we have to pay a big amount and some of us don't actually have the budget for it. Now I am really determined to learn this. Even sometimes my brain hurts and I have to rewatch a couple of times. I know I am learning :). So thank you. I will finish your 30-day series and add this to my CV.
You guys are so neatly organized and fancy. Your way of looking which is very neat and nice shows your way of working as well. I want to be such an organized and smart person like you!!
I am slowly catching up and so far I find it an amazing series. It covers quite a lot in each episode, but it is fairly easy to follow thanks to Aaron making everything look easy, the great flow that each episode has and the fact that the shortcuts always appear on the screen. Congrats to all the people behind the series.
Nice one. Could you do an in depth selections tutorial on the select and mask menu with detailed description of all the functions of the sliders and which tools to use in what scenarios? Refine edge confuses me.
I've watched hundreds of Photoshop tutorials. For some reason I'm really learning a lot from this series. Thank you so much for doing it. I'm going to look into subscribing to the site.
Loving this series. You are the best teacher ive ran into when it comes to Photoshop. I'm currently trying to learn how to make realism art on photoshop (much how this RU-vidr does it named Benny Productions). He takes cartoons and turns them into real life characters, it is so neat. But he also has a very good understanding of Photoshop and i believe this mini course will take me in the right direction! Ty Aaron!
I am watching you from day 1 and you always told the basic like u can download the sample image and about all tools and shortcuts You are really a good teacher❤❤ and i like the way of you ,tell about this topic
Thank you Aaron for your amazing video. I am being consistent with viewing these videos. I appreciate all your content. You have always made Photoshop fun in my eyes! and i'm sure in the eyes of thousands! Thank you for these treasures!
"If you can't tell, I really like Photoshop." - Aaron. I can tell, your eyes lit up like 100% when you're editing. Anyway, thank you for being a great and fun teacher and you are no doubt FUN or maybe FUNNY.
For a faster workflow when working with masks, rather than clicking Shift + Del (or Bksp) and choosing whether to fill with black or white, try setting your background and foreground colors to black and white by hitting the D key (shortcut for default colors) and then using either Ctrl + Del (or Bksp) to fill with the background color, or Alt + Del (or Bksp) to fill with the foreground color.
Aaron thank you for this tutorials!!! Keep it up, you're great teacher i definitely feel happy learning with you. This tutorials are best on RU-vid i've seen.
I usually never add comments in any videos at all.. But God this is so good. Right straight to the point, full of info. If you tell me I'll find more videos EXACTLY like this (each tool explained with their respective functions and shortcuts and how to make the most of them) in phlearn I will definitely consider getting a subscription. TY Aaron, this is gold. 👑❤️💯🔥 Have a great year, I'll stick around now that you caught my attention, cheers from Monterrey 🇲🇽.
Thank you for your generosity and indeed it is very detailed and clear. Maybe the most practical tutorial I have ever seen. Amazing! Thumb up and subscription done!
I have an older version of PS (CS5.1) so some of the things are missing from the layout, but otherwise this is a great set of instructions! I have played around and taught myself how to use PS but actually learning the right way all the tools work is really so much better than hoping something will work through trial and error lol. Thanks!
Yes, this definitely was a more intense video than the others but still pretty interesting, I would say I have medium knowledge level of PS but still, there is always something new that I'm learning in these videos. I'm trying to be more powerful with Premiere, Illustrator and Lightroom and I'm wishing to have a 30 days course of those like this, it's just so interesting and good explained! THANK YOU SO MUCH !
This is amazing @Phlearn! I'm keepingup with these bad boys incase they go private after the 30 days. I'm kicking myself for not learning some of the tricks I've learned so far 10 years ago!
tip: when using the lasso tool on the inverted mask, you can just use alt/opt delete to remove or recover part to the subject without having to click black or white, you can press (X) to switch color pallet from white to black.
Wow so for a few years now I've self-taught myself PS by googling 'how to do this & that' whenever I needed something graphic done. Even made some money here and there - artwork, edits etc. Five lessons with Aaron on RU-vid and I realize I've been doing Photoshop with one hand tied behind my back. Great course if you want to understand the fundamentals and understand the bigger picture of what you're doing, not just memorizing techniques like I did. Also how on earth have I lived without the brush size & hardness shortcut, would've saved me probably a few hours of reaching for the ] and [ keys, cursing at the inaccuracy, and then adjusting manually from the top bar. Thank you! 😁
I got your channel today.I am really so happy to watch your tutorial and I will be continuing .... Great channel to learn Photoshop. Sir how to make realistic glass in PS.
Thanks alot for your awesome work. I have done amazing projects thanks to your videos! I feel like if I watch all 30 videos I will be a Pro on Photoshop xD.
This is my Day 5 and I have to admit I am lost with all the selections specifically w colour range I’m feeling a bit frustrated but happy to keep watching it many times until it sticks on my brain
Dear Team @Phlearn, I gotta say I love learning from your videos. Your instruction is clear, the pacing is great, and sense of professionalism in the quality of work is just phenomenal. Even though it would be a lot more work for you, I wonder if you have even thought about making review versions of these tutorials. For viewers who are short on time and need to consume their information in smaller bites at a time. Instead of using full video content, perhaps utilizing short snippets like gifs. Or even just creating a text format of directions to achieve a particular outcome. But regardless I love these videos and you cover so many techniques in a short amount of time!
I am LOVING your sessions! I agree with what JustNormalPeopleWithKim wrote that the session was quite challenging - I have been trying to get through it on and off all day (it's Passover, so - in addition to the isolation, I have the time to invest. Learning PS has been my goal for a few years and now with your series and the COVID thing, I am finally getting down to it!) I am confused as to why you aren't working on a new layer, rather on the background layer here. Could you please explain that? Thanks! A fan from Israel!
I am following the 30-day plan. This is the Day 5 episode. This was the first time I was really frustrated. I'm new to PS and this tutorial was the first where I felt info was coming too fast. I have looked at it twice and still am confused and frustrated. Not one to quit I will keep watching this episode until it "sticks."
