Hope your doing better with your depression i know how it can feel to run out of breath like you just ran a merathon even tho your just sitting there i go thrww it too
thank you so much for this! i've been working on retexturing (& recoloring) just one hair for about day now since i watched your video & i'm really happy with the results! you've empowered me--it feels great to know how to fix hair textures i just don't like on hair meshes i'd otherwise like to use.
If you want to have photoshop for free (it's working for Mac, windows idk) just dl Adobe Zii and open photoshop and adobe Zii and follow the instructions of adobe Zii and photoshop, illustator,... will be free for u
I hope you learned how to add slight highlights cause all you do is add a small strip of highlight right into the middle of the retextture. If that made sense. So in Photoshop you would paint Shadow, Base color, Highlight, Base color, Highlight, Base color, shadow. In that order. Then go through the motion blur. But adding that 3rd color adds more dimension
I pretty accustomed to the file structures. My issue is hair parts. The EAMesh PigTails is driving me crazy. I cannot tell which part is which without painting checking painting checking ugh. There has to be an easier way
i know you’ve probably solved this but i’ve got a solution in case anyone else is struggling. disclaimer, though: i’m super new to this and generally, in life, my problem-solving has always added unnecessary layers of complication. but! here’s what i do: i make a different copy of the mesh where in photoshop i kind of destroy it with color. by that, i mean that i create a new layer using a clipping of the previous layer and then use the paintbrush to color one seemingly uniform clump or chunk or “piece” of the hair in a wild color, like dbz orange. then i’ll create a new layer the same way and color another “piece” a different wild color, like turquoise. if i’m having trouble figuring out which is top/bottom/side, i do a lighter shade of a similar color for the bottom half of the “piece” of hair; alternatively, you can just do a strip of a lighter shade at the very bottom and a strip of a darker shade at the top. sounds time-consuming but it only takes a few minutes and it can be as sloppy as time demands. imo it’s worth it. i do that until i’ve covered the whole hair texture, and then i save as... and name it something like “peggysims420key” (idk i don’t use peggysims’ hair haha but you get the idea). then i load it in sims 4 studio and i use that as a reference againt the “peggysims420key.png” so i can see which piece goes where and what end is top/bottom/left/right. i’m sure someone else has a better, faster way to do this but for now this works for me.
I may sound stupid, but my excuse is I have never worked with Photoshop. I guess stupid questions lead to smart conversations? Blah, blah... Sooo at 4:11 when you were picking the blond base color you have that rectangle of the yellowish orange color (like all the shades and saturation and such. I hope you got that I'm awkward at explaining >
do you mean the color picker? i definitely feel like that should show up automatically. try clicking on your paint bucket tool and see if it pops up along the side. i'll look at photoshop later and see if there's a way to enable it somewhere. in the meantime google "color picker not showing up in photoshop" b/c someone has probably run into this before even though i haven't
Okay, so the color picker does work I do have it there. I'm going to try to explain this better - at 6:15 the thing on the right (I actually have no clue how to call that) I hope I made it clearer now >< you can try opening this link (prntscr.com/h56yes) it's a screenshot of the thing I have no clue how to call >
I think so. There's that vertical RGB spectrum and to the left of it is a box and as I said I can't find it in preferences or actually anywhere, I even tried googling it >< I feel like I just have to justify myself for not being clear with my explaining >< English is not my first language soo... >
what version of photoshop do you have? if you want, you can join my Discord server and talk to me on there. it might be easier than these youtube comments. I have a section where people can get help. discord.gg/MgkBMch
thanks for uploading the video, really thanks, I want to know how I separate the base hair (mesh), with my retexture, because if I put the mesh with my retexture the hair creator would get upset, as I separated them by package, I mean to use my texture have to unload the creator's hair.
Hey, when saving your new texture. What format do I save it as that'll allow me to drag it onto my photoshop screen like you did? I'm having a hard time dragging the newly created retexture into the new layer of the hair mesh.
ooh. uh. hmm. are you making a layer mask on your background layer? try doing it as a new layer and see if that works. idk. i don't think i've ever run into that issue. you might need to rasterize your layers? can you take a screenshot of what your photoshop workspace is like and put the link to it in the comments?
You helped me out the last time, I'm hoping you can help me out again. I'm sorry this is my first time playing on a computer for sims and I've only had it for a few months. I was able to get into cheats by using cntrol+shift+c but for some reason whenever I do it now, it's taking screenshots instead of opening the cheats. I don't know what to do.
Alexis Puente if you accidentally press C by itself it will take a screenshot. Make sure you're pressing control+shift+C all at the same time 😊 if that doesn't work then I'm not sure what the issue is
So Are you making a "Base" Then Running Pooklet's "ACTIONS" And Crediting Him If Up For Download? I downloaded the actions.... yet to start ... I think you did a lot of bases prior? & You start always with a blonde? Thanks For This...........
Tonya Dunlop the other colors aren't bases, just textures I had saved after running the actions. You'd want to make a blonde base, then run the pooklet base action on it (I think it's called volatile) and THEN finally run the chosen color
Thanks So Much For Responding......... I Am ON A "Gotta Make Alpha Hair" Spree LOL I Am Going To Re-Watch This and Let You Know..... Comprehension is Not My Strong Point LOL @ Times Meshes Are Not Easy..... I Gave Up On Them........ LOL So Recolouring / Retexturing It IS! haha
OK I See Now I Missed A Few Steps ... Was Tired When I tried & In Game The Hair Came Out With TONS Of White Splotches... so Try and Try Again..... And Will Update You Thanks For The Lovely TUT HUN ♥♥♥
Thank you so much, ive been watching so many different videos and none that i have found so far tells you what to do. I really want to start making clothes even tho i prob wont play the actual Sims game.
Harris Brothers you can download a cracked version of photoshop which is free and the full version, just search cracked photoshop download on youtube and make sure you read the comments to make sure it isn't a virus or something
jane_plays_sims Do you know anyone who can do it? I need this hairstyle for my sim. Who can create this hairstyle as I could download it as a package file for my game?If you know someone, tell me ,please.
jane_plays_sims that’s really kind of you 😃 I’m fine though it was lovely that you noticed me sadly I’m not aloud to subscribe but I definitely would of Edit: this comment was 2 months ago my parents let me now
You could also just draw the hair, you can control what it looks like much easier. There's plenty of videos showing how, this looks like waaayyyy to much effort
