OMGosh….I feel I should have paid for this tutorial. It is an amazing tutorial. I finally got my sublimation printer out of the box and was on Cricut Design Space and stopped just in the nick of time…lol. Thank you so much Alex!!!!!!!
I’ve been wondering if I should purchase Canva to design to add on with my Cricut Design Space. You explained every details that I struggle with. With this video, now I will add Canva & I’m very excited of what I can make. Thank you sooo much 😊
Great tutorial! My sublimation printer is coming tomorrow. YOU are the one I will be watching! I love the way you explain everything. It makes learning & retaining so much easier. I'm glad I finally stumbled on to your video. I will definitely be watching your next one. See you next time. God Bless.
Love your tutorial on sublimation but I do have a question on the text you put in (classy crafty and a bit sassy) do you not have to flip them in order for them to come out right on your project??
Thank You, So much for doing this video. It was so helpful. I have been frustrated trying to figure out how to design. Now I have new hope and excitement.
Thank You SOOOOOOOO much. I have been looking at how to make sublimation designs on canva and your video was first one that popped up.I can not wait to get making sublimation designs for my Etsy Shop.
You were great! I was very happy that you explain everything so clearly. I was lost when it came to Canva. Now I was able to save my project and print it out.😅
I just want to say THANK YOU QUEEN! This is the most straightforward, helpful and informative video I have seen on creating sublimation 😊. Take a bow because YOU DID THAT!
Great video, but was hoping it would show how to sublimate with only Canva. I'm wondering if it doesn't look as nice using canvas only. If it's best to use other sites thats fine, but since I currently use Canva I didn't want to add anything else unless necessary . I have enough going on right now to make my head spin. However, thank goodness for RU-vid University . Thanks for taking the time to do this.
This was so valuable. Thank you. It looks like if you pay for Pro you can use the elements and fonts with your creations just like Creative Fabrica. The Free version you have to pay 1.00 for everything you create to sell. The paint pallet would have been cute if you placed it in place of the "a" in Crafty.
I actually watched your full video and feel confident now 😂 very helpful,a lot of the others I didn't watch til the end ..I will definitely be watching more of you..thanks
Awesome video! I made a design as I was watching. Canva is my go to but I discovered that you can’t flip your text on Canva…however, you can type your words and edit on page2, then save that page as a PNG file. Go back to your design on page1 and upload your text PNG. Then you can flip it☺️
This was sooo helpful! I am not good with learning new/different programs. They intimidate me. But your video made it look so simple and helped me get started!!! ❤😊
Thank you for your info on Sublimation and HTV it Cleared up so much for me as I have a Heat Press but was deciding the rest and Sublimation is more what designing means to me again thank you
I love your video. I didn’t know where to start with Canva. So many questions answered thank you so much. I do have one question , why can’t I flip letters? I was able to filp the image but not the letter or words . I have to do that so they come out the right way on the shirt.
I'm so glad it was helpful! The flip should be available for text as well as images. If not, I would leave the entire image normal, and then flip the whole thing in your printer settings or computer settings just before you print.
HI Alex, I just watched your tutorial , im a beginner and would like to know how to put prints, pics in sticker form on a cup whether than having a white or black background
I just made a sublimation T-shirt using the heat, resistant tape and where the tape was it left a yellowish color on the shirt! I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I am using the same tape you’re using and pressing it the same way, but it’s leaving that color on the shirt from the heat resistant tape.
I have heard that some people struggle with that, but I haven’t had that issue. I would experiment with different heat tape brands. I tend to like the blue heat tapes.
Thank you for the tutorial, very helpful. I still have a question....Do I have to be a member in order to resize the image? I resized and locked but does not save it. Still the original size and no the desire one. Thanks
Hi Alex I just came a across your RU-vid channel I’m having some issues I ordered a prep from Etsy for sublimation. I put it into Canva how do I get to to my sublimation printer? I hope you can help me out Thank you. Laura
I figured out the mirroring. I am really loving Canva..just have to learn how to use everything. When you have time, how would you do an offset with the text? thanks so much
I don't know that I've done it with text in Canva yet. With images, you can go to edit image > glow > Click the glow to adjust it > Turn the blur down to 0 and adjust how much of a "glow" you want around your image!
I love your videos! Thank you for your time and love you put into your creations and tutorials as well as the positive energy you put out there. I don't know if this is appropriate to ask but I'm going to ask anyway... I have 4 Cricut machines. I don't have a website and have never made money using them. I just make things (and buy things apparently) however I recently got into sublimation and have two heat presses and two sublimation machines haha.. didn't know which to buy so I bought the two that had best reviews. I DO want to make money at some point with them but I mainly just play around and donate to schools and such. ANYWAY.. question.. my Cricut yearly fee is coming up in a few weeks. Do we really need to pay that or can we still use the machines without the Cricut subscription?
You’ll want to mirror the design after you download it since you can’t flip words in Canva! You can do this in an image editor like paint, or even in your print settings.
You can't sublimate white ink because your printer can't print white ink. So you just sublimate on a white shirt, and the shirt will show through the design and look white.
Love this!! I have a question about wanting to sell the designs I intend to make. I may word this wrong bc I’m still learning. If I wanted to make designs, sell them and be able to send the designs as a PNG, SVG, etc. how do I make the design to where it’s “cut” once someone downloads it. Like if they wanted to take one shape out or so? Idk if I’m asking this correctly so forgive me 😩
I think what you mean is having multiple layers in your design. Make sure all your shapes are separate, but other than that I’m not sure how to do that! I’m sorry!
This is a very informational tutorial! Thank you so much for all the info! I do have a question tho. I downloaded the canva pro free trial but I cannot get the download button at the top no matter what I do. Is there something else I need to download so I can print?
Hi there just got the background package from design bundles, but can't d/l it. Where is it supposed to go after downloading it? Do you have to be in canva to use them? Thanks ahead of time for your help.
Hello! I was reviewing your Amazon store for sublimination printers and the one you have in your store tagged sold out. Any others you would suggest? Thank you
Can you mirror your image in canva!? I'll be designing for cup tumblers! Also can I upload my own drawings I have done and editt them in canva? Or design special picutres like animals or anything like that
You can mirror your image, but not your text in Canva. You can modify your own designs if they are uploaded as separate layers. If they are all uploaded together then I don’t think you would be able to modify them.
What a great tutorial! Thank you. My only thought was about the white lettering...I've heard the sublimation inks don't print white? But that it just ends up being negative space.
Hello Alex! Do you have a tutorial on using a photo of like my dog, for example, adding text, like his name, and using a colorful sublimation background for a mug??
Love your video and learned a lot! Unfortunately when I try to make a custom size it won’t let me enter in my own. It tells me “enter a valid value.” It doesn’t allow me to put decimals, it wants whole numbers only.
If you print with white writing like you had in the video does the white show up as white on a colored tshirt? If so does that mean I need to use my cricut or scissors to cut around the edge so it doesn’t have white around the edge?
Regular printers don't have white ink, so you can't print anything white. White areas will just show the shirt fabric through the design. White won't transfer to the shirt, so no need to trim the design.
Hi thanks for the tutoring. When you say to make sure you have a license if your using it to sell, what do you mean. Can I make a design on canva to sell?
You'll need to read Canva's license agreement to know if the designs you are creating are able to sell. Especially if you're using graphics, fonts, and other elements from Canva (that weren't created by you), you need to make sure you know if you have permission to make money off the final design.
When you save as a PDF Print, does it make the background transparent? I noticed it doesn't have the option to click the box for that like it does if you save as a PNG. Thanks!
You know, I'm actually not sure! But if the background is white it will be "transparent" since printers don't have white ink (unless using a white toner printer).
Love this tutorial ❤️ and thanks for being so detailed. I do have one question, seeing that you had to design the t-shirt sub design, how much would you sell this for?
hi Alex - I have a question. I have been on the canva, playing around and I can't figure out how to mirror the text so that when you sublimate, the text comes out correctly. Thank you for your help.
You can do it in Canva, but you have to select each element and select Flip > Horizontal. So it can be a pain if you have a lot of layers! It's honestly easier to download the design and flip it when you actually get to print. I show you how to flip it in this video if you want to see how it's done in Canva: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1-9M6xdVXNs.html It should be around 11:00 in this video!
Do you have to have a heat press for sublimation transfer? I have been successful with the printing but when I go to iron it on I fail. I am using the cricut iron. Help
I’m a newbie. I noticed you didn’t mirror your image. Is there a reason why? I thought I learned to always mirror for sublimation. Just making sure I haven’t missed anything. Thank you.
You gave all the information but you left out “transparency”. Being your sub printer doesn’t print white, do you have to do anything special before downloading to be sure the white is transparent? That’s where I’m lost.
I don't know if anyone has asked! I am new to Sublimation and want to know if you can just upload a PNG and print it. I see a lot of videos about doing backgrounds, not many to just use the picture you have.
