for anyone looking to host a server, do not port forward into your main network, this is a very good way of getting hacked. Either set up the server in DMZ or run it on a rented server, with for example Linode where you can usually find discount codes which give you 100$ for free, this should be enough to run your server while you play with friends for a while.
@@pjubo I was going to make a server just for me and my friends. its okay to make it private just for that right? and how would I get them to join if its private?
My friend is unable to join, it always says connection failed, does anyone know why? I did the port forwarding and I checked the firewall, i have no clue
When I open the website, there are 3 options. Download Server (Windows), Download Server (Linux) and Download Client. I cannot press on "Download Client" but I can press on the Download Server. How to fix?
hey man did you find any solution me and my brother are facing same issue where he creates a server and i cant join him connection failed.... and also we can only create the normal maps although we downloaded many and many new maps we cant seems to start them up only in normal scenarios not mp server creation
If you try to join your server from the public list and it doesn't work, it is likely from the port settings. Maybe watch a port forwarding tutorial that is specific for your router.
@@100rats2 Thank you so much! Do you happen to know if it's possible to make your own private beam session? Like with 2 pcs in your home and no one else?
If you want to make a private session inside one network, then you don't need to port forward. Use Direct connect and leave the IP and port setting as is (it's the localhost).
If i try to go to the server per direct connect it works. by my friend it doesnt works. if i try to go to the server per servers so public it doesnt work for me and my friend.
HELLO !! I GOT A ERROR RELATED WITH *** WSA *** WHEN I LOGIN ON MY OWN SERVER ... ANY SUGGESTIONS IDEAS ABOUT ? IT SEEM RELATED WITH CONECTION ISSUE. THANK YOU
So your server is not private and it doesn't show up on the list? If so turn on debug to see whats going on ( like "Backend system refused server"). In that case maybe just restart the server. You also have to refresh the list for it to show up. If the server shows up on the list, you should be able to join it if it also works by direct connect.
What does the server console say? (Enable debug in the config file for more info). Did you try to join it by direct connect or server list? If the server shows up on the list (private = false) then BeamMP accepted your server. Maybe watch a tutorial on port forwarding for your specific router. Check if your ip is IPv4, which is the one the server supports
@@morzbng74 nice so a 20$ server will work nicely,, can you please make new video on how to setup the beam mp server on rented server and how to install mods
