How to create your own NTRIP Station using EMLID Caster | EMLID Reach RS2 GPS Training.
In this video we are going to show you how to turn your EMLID Reach RS2 base station into your very own NTRIP station. Enabling you to do work up to 60 km from your base.
**Note, you do need an active internet connection available.

I don't understand why it is usefull to use the Emlid base since your rover can receive the correction data from other base stations around you via Ntrip network. Please explain why the emlid base is so needed. Thanks

Hi there, thank you for reaching out The EMLID base allows for L1,L2,L5 data and leads to much faster RTK conversion time comparing to just L1,L2 data. In South Africa we have older Trignet Base stations and that results in long conversion times in some cases hence we prefer the EMLID base station over your own NTRIP station. Also the advantage of setting up your own NTRIP station for any use from drones to normal conventional survey is that it helps in cases where there are no Trignet stations available, we able to roam up to 60km radius using the RS2 base. We also don't experience any down time because we are in control. Hope this helped!
