Hey KC! Been watching all of your vids because I want to buy an Instinct 2 by next month. So I’ve been on this watch face build and Ive built 3 different faces, and they came out pretty well! Thanks for all of your help (ahead of time!). Peter
SO GLAD you got an Instinct 2. I was looking forward to using these with my Instinct 2. Sadly, I had to return mine because the watch face is too small for my OLD eyes to see. ☹
Don’t feel bad, I have debated getting rid of mine for the same reason. Have the day fields I need a magnifying glass to read. It’s hell getting old ;).
Could you do a video on how to access your recovery time on the Instinct 2. I have had the watch for a week. I saw it once after cycle but can’t seem to find it again?
Do I need Connect IQ app to keep custom watchface? For some time i think it was disconnected. Today when i woke up i saw one of default face on my watch, then i wanted to change back to my custom watch face and there was only iq icon. Does garmin need to be connected to the IQ app or garmin connect to display custom watchface? I did my custom watch face and trensferred file via charging cable so the watch face should be displayed irrespective of phone connection
Great video, thanks for creating. Do you happen to know if it makes any difference transferring from watchfacebuilder to the watch if one uses a Macintosh instead of a windows computer?
To answer my own question, one can use a Macintosh computer and follow the instructions given in this video to load newly built watch faces to a Instinct 2 Solar Watch.
hello, can you tell me if the the top right circle area is an "extension" of the main screen? i mean if you put the "testing" word on your face and the letters "n" and "g" appear in the top right area, would they appear also really in your watch? thx
You could extend the value from your main display "bigger" into the sub display "smaller". It might look odd because you will always have the small circle that breaks the two up. . . .but yes you can do that. I hope that helps.
Says "missing key" after disconnecting from computer...(asks to input the key at the watchbuilder site). Got free API key from open weather map website. Entered key and this facebuilder site "waiting for device to pick up....," forever.
I mentioned that in the video. It is because you are using a weather field that requires a key from openweather.org - you either need to get a key from their site (free), or remove that field from the watch face and just stick with fields from Garmin (those won't require a key).
Thanks for the great video. I have a question. I cannot find the icons for heart rate, elevation, etc. Where are they located in the watch face builder website?
@@JUMBLE2015 thanks for your response. yes, there are many icons under data field but not the ones like heart rate, elevation etc. Am I overlooking it?
The datafield gives you the data. . . . if you want to add the icon, you need to go to "Object". . . then stock shapes, and add the icon you want @@Umut82429
Quick question: you were mentioning that warch faces from ConnectIQ are in the same Apps directory where user-loaded faces go. Can one take a PRG file from CIQ, import it to the watchface builder, and use *that* as a template to work from? Thanks!
@@JUMBLE2015 Ok, thank you for your reply. So to plan a hike and put it on the watch is only possible with a computer as well I guess. Anyway, thank you a lot for your videos, they are a great help to understand the Garmin Instinct. Cheers.
Unfortunately no. The Instinct 1 has a different screen resolution so you can't use any of these on it. You could use it on other models (i.e. Forerunner 955, Fenix, etc.)
