This is brilliant! Having found out that my eldest daughter is expecting her first baby , I followed your tutorial for crocheting granny squares . Then I followed yore tutorial for joining them together . Now I will make a border . Then I will have a beautiful baby blanket for my grand-daughter who will be born in April . Your tutorials are easy to follow and you are an excellent teacher . Thank-you . x

You have helped me to revive an old love for crochet! My grandmother taught me years ago and after she passed I had a hard time keeping with it! But I've recently had the desire and now with your videos I'm having a blast getting back into the hobby! ! Thank you for bringing back the joy in crochet! !

Thank you, Jayda. I know this is an older video, but still helpful and relevant. I made a continuous granny square afghan and the edges were very loose and flimsy. I searched for boarder videos and came across yours. I ended up using your single crochet border and it looks great and gives my edges the stability they needed. 🙂

I gotta tell ya ~ it still looks great with the Wool you chose for your Afghan! I wouldn't have known it had shrunk if you hadn't pointed it out! Thanks for the patterns! I love it! I must say I wasn't looking for my granny squares as I still have to stitch them all together. Would've been done a year ago except I went blind in one eye and it's taken me a New York Minute to get back on track! But now I have a gorgeous pattern to choose from, & I too just started Crocheting only 2 months before losing my vision! My goal was to make a Granny Square blanket and I'm so blessed I got to make the squares before my blindness. Now, after completing this one my NEXT Goal is: To make a 2'nd one!!

I like to do a half double crochet border when I'm doing a solid border, because there's no confusion about whether or not the ch 2 at the beginning of a round counts as a stitch, and it's easy to see when I've reached the end of a round (because the stitch is a bit taller than a single crochet). I've also done plenty of "granny round" borders on afghans, too.

This is STILL my go to video for when I do a border; just to kind of double check myself... working on a "V" stitch throw for my godaughter's christmas gift... and trying to decide on what type of border I want...and how to do it exactly....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ** Hint Hint ** lol.....Love that I have this to go back and refrence!

Hi Toni, if you want to at least begin your border (regardless of what else you add to it) with a single crochet st and you'd like a few pointers you might want to check out our Fan Stitch Baby Blanket tutorial (towards the end when we add the border) because the raw edges of that stitch are very similar to the V-St :) You can find that tutorial here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ctfSucGmwCo.html

I have a question... how many rows do you normally do on your granny square boarder? I love how it looks and I can't wait to try it out!
@KiwiDh383
@KiwiDh383 Год назад
Would you recommend putting, say a white row around each square, then join in white and make white outside border .?
@JaydaInStitches

White is a great neutral and makes the overall blanket brighter. I have done that myself, because I felt the white was a nice frame to the busy squares 😊 If you'd like to see how that looks (at least for joining) check out this video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zMG6ll5m25A.html
