I really like regular, well-defined stitches, and the granite/moss stitch is so appealing! Giving the rows a V shape, as in your design, turns the static into motion, even in a neutral, tweedy textured yarn. It just hums right along!

Lady you have a fantastic eye for attractive color pallettes. Absolutely love your work and enjoying newly following you on Instagram and your blog. Thank you for giving the hobby a more modern classy feel. your pieces and the color schemes you use I can see fitting into my living space or seem more fashionable to wear than some of the items I more commonly see in the hobby (even if they are beautiful in their own right). I am excited to try Tunisian crochet eventually and I'll probably start with your pillows but this blanket is so pretty clean and simple I may try this one first.

38 inches square for a baby blanket, is this accurate? I'm making one right now (my first crochet project ever) and it's going to be about 26 inches by 30. I have no idea what a good size was so I just went with something that seemed big enough. Do you have any advice for how big to make a baby blanket for a couple's first child?

Can you replace the doubles with trebles? I don't even know if I am using the right words, ever since I moved to the United States crochet has confused me. I like the rhythm of crocheting with the taller stitch. I'm not the one who waters the plants, so I hope they are ok!

I'm not Toni, but I have worked with moss/granite/linen stitch multiple times. I assume you are using UK crochet terms (double/treble)? I have never tried using a UK treble (US double) instead of a UK double (US single), but it might work. Taller stitches require more chains in corners, and your edges might not lie flat or be a little wavy. It would be an interesting experiment. Edit to add: If you have access to a public library, you might check if the reference section has crochet books. A good crochet reference or pattern book usually has a chart that translates UK/US crochet terms.

Do you ever deal with pain in the bottom joint of you thumb. I keep having tendon pain and nothing seems to be helping.

I do, Jacob. I learned that eating tomatoes or anything including tomatoes or tomato sauce make that joint pain flare up. I stopped eating the red monsters (I turn it into something I don't like, so I don't want it) and the pains significantly decreased. It's arthritis, unless you have injured your hand in some way. I am not a doctor, but I do have arthritis since about 40 yrs old. Good luck with yours.

@@creative2716 luckily I don't care for tomatoes too much lol. My sister in law is an occupational therapist and told me what I have is trigger thumb. I'm in a brace for 6 to 10 weeks and have to take it easy :/
