How to Crochet a Mixed Grit Stitch Variation or Half Shell Ripple Stitch

In this week's video tutorial I show you how to crochet the Half Shell Ripple Stitch or a Mixed Grit Stitch variation. I used this stitch in my recent two baby blankets and it creates a wonderful solid finish that is almost bobbly in effect. Very cosy with a good baby yarn.

This stitch is also called the Sedge Stitch. It's a great stitch and very versatile. I've made several projects with it, and love it. Good job on the tutorial.

I'm so glad you posted this!!! I've been following a written pattern, and even though the repeat is easy, I've been messing up the ends so my bobbles werent matching up. Now I have a visual and I'm excited lol

I love this stitch because of the texture. Reminds me of the C2C which we called diagonal stitch back in the 1970s.

Excellent pattern, I 'm using it for a scarf right now. I tried the puff, the bobble and the popcorn stitch, but this looks way much prettier, at least with my yarn (stylecraft special chunky). Merry Christmas everyone!

Oh God. I’ve used thus stitch before. Made a huge throw for my recliner. A visiting friend fell asleep wrapped in it. It’s pretty soft
