I am making my new granddaughter a blanket this would look beautiful but no disrespect or to make you feel bad but can you please do it in a light color because I have eye problems and can barely see but thank you so much for sharing
Worked out great. Thanks for the instructional video. (I made the scalloped border on my granny square scarf - looks great. I gave the scarf to my mother on Mother's Day 2017)
This was extremely helpful! I was looking for an easy border to go on my Tunisian crocheted blanket and this made it look awesome. Excellent job on explaining for a beginner like me.
very excellent, understandable video. I think I'll add it to my very first baby blanket edging. My only suggestion would be is to use a light colored yarn. It might be easier to see what you're doing as you move along. Thank you
This is the best vid I found on how to border, but sadly I can't really see what you're doing I'm learning and having a very hard time seeing what your doing as you're using a dark yarn 😢
Bless your heart. Didn't anyone teach you to slip stitch across to avoid having all those dangling ends to work in later? Also, this is not a scalloped edging, it is a shell edging. Scallops are deeper.
Thank you for this tutorial. My coaster looks cute now. (It was supposed to be a square but ended up looking a little like a trapazoid, but the scalloped border helps hide that a bit ^_^)
After you'd done the first chain (border) in the dark colour, it would have been good if you'd then used a LIGHT coloured wool for the scalloped edge, so we could see it more clearly.
I don't know of any way to attach the granny squares if they already have a border on them. I recommend adding the border after you've finished attaching all of the granny squares.
Hi, i've just started crocheting again and am making a baby blanket for some friends. I'd love to do a scalloped border on it, do you have to cut the yarn after you've made the initial base before starting on the actual scallop?? Couldn't you just start the scallop right where you ended the base?
+Caira MJ Sorry that this is very late, but yes. If you want to keep the same color of your baby blanket for the border then you can continue with the scalloped border as soon as you finish the blanket.
hi, I want to make a bigger border do I continue to scallop a second row,or is there a pattern for a larger scallop. thanks great to see people with the same interests
I'm not certain as I haven't tried either before. I would suggest looking for a larger scallop border pattern as I think that would be the simplest solution. You can do a second round of scallop but doing 1 large would be easier than 2 small rows for me personally
