The written version of this uses British terms and abbrevs. Their "dc" is actually US single crochet (sc) and their "tr" is a US dc (tr for US is treble=triple crochet). I wish it would go universal; I keep messing up LOL Thanks for the video though :) BTW, the video can be slowed down, under the "cog" symbol. 0.5 has been helpful for me.
went to the garn studio website and i don't think any of the videos use sound. just the pattern beneath the video to follow along. strange. lots of videos though.
I have made several of these. you just have to count and pay attention to the video. I can't follow pattern sheets I have to watch a video and the more they are quiet the better I can concentrate
zhinka HI. We are a worldwide company and our videos are watched by people around the world, speaking different languages, many of whom do not understand English. We have therefore written instructions to accompany this video (click on the link under the video), and there is no sound to disturb while watching. Enjoy!
I would love it, but there's no sound. and you go too fast. would you please redo this video but, with verbal instructions? I am new to crochet and haven't got the hang of reading patterns yet. until I can master that, I make things by following along.
There are an overabundance of comments regarding the sound 'not working' (as well as angry viewers so I'll try to be constructive). I understand there is intentionally no sound... but I wish the creator would consider the benefits of including sound. We have the option to speed up or slow down a video which may be helpful for some - but EVERYONE has the option to MUTE a video if they do not wish to listen to the sound. When I see a double crochet in the video, then scroll down to the pattern to see a triple crochet in that row, it is incredibly confusing. To be able to see someone demonstrate a stitch while calling it whatever nomenclature the creator is using will be much easier. They could call it a fluffy bunny stitch, it is irrelevant if we are able to see how the words match the actions.
It is an incorrect pattern for sure. I'm a seasoned crocheter so I had to figure it out on my own. Very annoying when you want to learn something that should be so simple. at least have it captioned for each row for the unseasoned beginners ! This was very confusing. Its a great pattern.....once you figure it out. Ther are many other tutorials with sound and correct written instructions. I agree with you ! JS
It isn't necessarily incorrect. It depends on whether or not the video maker uses UK or US terminology. Often they state which they are using but if not, I just watch the video and only follow instructions when it comes to inc, dec, chain or new rows. :o)
