Oh man I almost gave up when we started to calculate the neck hole measurements but you made it so easy I’m glad I stuck through this I’m working on the second sleeve right now and I’m so excited ✨🥰
For anyone frustrated by the 2 stitches left over at the end after chaining 75 +9, read on! I did 85 + 9 (bust size 17-ish inches but I'm using stretchy acrylic yarn), but if you want to know for your particular size, here's what to did: Get a pen and paper. Use dots to symbolise chains and Vs to symbolise the double crochets. Follow the pattern she described: V . . . V etc. Until you have the number of stitches that will fit your bust. Make sure to end on a V. After that, add 9 stitches (these 9 stitches symbolise the *3 chains* in between the double crochets, the fourth stitch (*1 stitch*) where the double crochet is made, the double crochet itself which is *2 chains long*, and the *chain of 3* at the top of the double crochets (in total the chains in the asterisks = 9). After chaining 9, double crochet into the 10th stitch and continue pattern as normal (skip 3, double crochet into the fourth stitch). There won't be any stitches left over when you reach the end! Hopefully she'll see this and pin! 🤍 Happy crocheting! Jesus loves youu
there are no tutorials on this bc nobody figured this out apparently, but all i can say is just undo the slip knot like youre untangling a normal knot.
@@Uuuh...hein... Anna Greene made this exact tutorial originally but expains everything like 10x more thoroughly! definitely go watch hers. shes wearing blue bolero in the thumbnail
@@Khushi-gj7zli’m not too sure what half a bust means but the +9 (or any other number) always means to add 9 more chains. so you’ll have whatever length you need and then add 9 more chains
@@Khushi-gj7zl half a bust means half your chest size, so eg if your bust is 36 inches then do half of 36 = 18 in and it's 85 PLUS 9, so chain whatever your chest size is (here 89) and then chain 9 more. if you chain 85, you should chain 9 more and your total will be 94
the whole pattern is great but i went according to my bust measurements and everything but my neck hole came out too small. I cant fit my head through 😭 what should i do?
Is there any way to loosen the neck hole once you're done with the entire thing? I made mine slightly smaller and it's a bit uncomfortable to put on lol
super confused getting to the step of connecting the front panel to the back before you make the sleeves. are we slip stitching toward the neck hole or away from it to secure it around arm
I'm about to literally cry I've been doing it but starting from 8:29 i don't understand a single thing the color of your yarn won't show anything and i don't understand where my head and shoulders gaps should be :((
i know i’m 3 weeks late but look up anna greene’s video on how to make a bolero. i feel like she explains that part better because i was seriously confused
When you start doing the sleeves, are you doing a stitch in every box (like every box at the end of the row) or every other box (i.e. every other row)? The pattern’s been really easy to follow, I’m making one of these for my sister and even though I had to restart cause I made it too small it didn’t take me long to get back up to where I was.
I’m using thicker yarn for mine, and I’m not sure how to calculate the chain u made to finish the neck hole. Can u explain your reasoning for the math? Why add one gap on then right side? And why multiply the gaps in the middle by 4 and add 3?
Hi Kamryn, when you say do an increase in random little spots, do you mean “increase in every 4th chain etc” or actually just random and when you feel like? I hope I made sense 😭
A piece of advice: when making a crochet tutorial, in the thumbnail and the finished product showcase what YOU have made. Now I noticed you really emphasize on the bolero photo you found on the internet, and I have to be honest, your bolero looks very different from the one you imply on making :)
The thumbnail is her photo, she made the one in her thumbnail, the only difference between the thumbnail and the one she made is that she used different yarns, which is very common amoung crochet tutorials to she the one they already have made then make it in a different color for the tutorial.
Will my work change if I only followed my neck measurement? i am using a little bit thick yarn and measuring my bust size turned out 60 plus chains andd I have 4 squares for my shoulder partt and I cant do 20 chains for my neck bc its too short for me omg idk what to do please help me
For some reason after I chain 39 for the neck hole my pattern increases from 15 squares across to 20?? It doesn’t seem right but I have no clue what I’m doing wrong, I’m following the video step by step!! Someone helppppp😫
Hi I'm sorry i was just confused at the sleve part and how exactly it ended up not being closed. 10:44 I am also a little bit confused about the sleves like how you made them so big at the end
If you want the end of the sleves bigger , you can start increasing on your Last 3 or 4 rows. You can like do 3 normal stitch as you do and 2 in the same gap to increase (not a pro so this is Just an advice
Either one works, it won’t change the outcome by much I just like using a smaller hook bc it’s more comfortable to me but 5mm and 4mm should both be fine it’s up to you!
So i feel stupid and ive cried twice over this. Ive tried this pattern 6 times and each time it isnt sizing right, this pattern wasnt made for a 44 DDD 2xl so im absolutely loosing my mind
Hey I am starting an Etsy and would like to crochet this pattern and sell them is that okay with you? I'm in love with this pattern. It was very easy to follow and love the way it looks!
@@jorja7895 I used her video along with a few others to make my design and I just wanted to double check with all of them that it was okay since I took inspo
@@thatonebookreader_Crochet I'm obviously not OP but this is such a popular top with multiple multiple patterns out there, I seriously think you're ok selling this. Maybe credit her in your item description.
Hi! Amazing pattern and easy to follow but you lost me at the row after the chains. 😂 I end up with one more "square" or home after crocheting the row that's into the chains. What am I doing wrong?
A word of advice for everyone doing this pattern, dont be like me. make sure your head fits in the hole before you finish the 1st sleeve. Not my finest moment :)
this is my first finished crochet that i’m actually gonna wear! it took me 2 days to finish and i’m so proud of it 🥰 thank u so much for sharing the tutorial! ❤
No, you’re not dumb. It’s just that you are probably a beginner, so it must be a bit to difficult for you. Maybe a more detailed tutorial might work for you!❤
i’m a bit confused by the slip stitch/arm part 😭 so you folded the work in half, and then slip stitched into the holes? or did you slip stitch inside every chain until you got your arm size?
I'm a suuuuper beginner at crochet (I'm a knitter lol) and this was so easy for me to follow. Thank you!! I'm almost done after 2 days (could've gotten it done in 1, it's such a quick work up)!
just finished mine and im so excited to wear it. this was such an easy tutorial to follow, i didnt even have to slow the video speed down like i usually do.
hey! i know you commented this a month ago but i just started crocheting too and im struggling a lot with the slip stitch part where you connect some squares so you can make the sleeves... i think i made the chain sixes that u have to connect too tight and the hook can't go through them, but maybe i just cant figure out the slip stitch? id really appreciate it if you (or anyone reading this) have any advice or tutorial videos? thank u
@@helenxar9405i think you need work on your tension. if you tension is too tight its hard to get stiches into your loops. so you should look up tutorials on that.
im making my first wearable using this pattern!! i usually don't like following videos but you've made this sooooo easy. Quick question.. i wanted to do a few increases. just to widen the arms a bit and add a bell cuff. if I'm only trying to add a few inches should I do like two increase stitches in the same round or one inc stitch for each row till at the desired width?
Nah cause how am I supposed to fit my neck through this tiny ass hole 😂😂😂 yeah idk bout this project..looks like yours atm but the hole doesn’t make sense why it’s so small like this finna be for a toddler or something
I made my neck hole the correct size for my head but then when I continued on after that, the pattern somehow increased from 15 chains across to 21😭 and the creator is liking comments but isn’t responding to any
Hi! I’m doing this project but in the sleeves is getting bigger and bigger everything time and i want them like your sleeves. I have to do decreases or do you have any tip? Side note: I love your channel, your tutorials are really helpful
You might be accidentally Increasing, if it’s not that much I’d say start over but if it’s a lot you can decrease it might look a little odd though. My tip is to just pay close attention to where you put your stitches cause it can be so easy to accidentally increase!
today is my first day ever crocheing in my life (i've never knitted either) and i have been so confused but this is helping me so much thank you i am finally getting the hang of it
Also, how does it fit around your neck? is 39 chains enough to fit over the head nicely? i feel like if i chain the length i feel i need i will mess up the pattern.
can someone please explain the part where she tries to connect the two panels together? it seems like she cut the clip so i’m not really sure what she’s doing after that😭
I personally like to have it stretched a little bit, bc if you dont its gonna fit too lose but if you stretch it out too far you risk making it too small by accident, it also helps to measure it against ur body again after working a few rows, bc then it doesnt stretch as much as just the chain (i hope any of that made sense lmao)
may be a dumb question but for the sleeves did you double crochet into each hole or did you skip the ones that are not four chain spaces wide like the ones that are more inward. i hope this makes sense😓
i’m only on the first row of hdc skipping stitches with the same count, restarted a ton of times and still cannot end up at the exact end of the row. am i doing something wrong or should i just skip the extra 2 stitches and end on the last one?
Hi, big problem for me, so I chained at first 50+9 then I had 13 dc. When I had to count, I was blocked. I did 4 so 4+1 and then I went lost... Can someone helps ? Plz
i have just discovered your videos and love them! i've tried making this top several times but it was always too small/tight under the armpits, do you know why? thank youu
Take the edges of two sides and insert your hook then pull your yarn in them . Make 2 knots to secure . Insert your hook to the same hole pull your yarn in them and you have it. Then youcan continue
I can't seem to get the math right for me, I am a B32 but I keep on making it too small? and keep on getting the math wrong? How many do you think I should be chaining in the beginning
Either measure across between your shoulders like the other person said or across your chest. Usually band sizes (the 32 in your bra size) is the size under your breasts so your bra size doesn’t work for this project
I encountered a problem. I do croshet 75 ch's and when i start doing the first row I'm being left with two spare ch's. Do i restart or i just ignore them?
Idk why but i think i am the only one who doesn't understand the math neck part in which she multiplied 9×4+3 so the question is where did the 4 and 3 come from??? Please tell me i am really confused
Does anyone know why my second sleeve just isn’t working? I’m not accidentally increasing and I’ve unraveled and re-crocheted the second arm four times now and every single time it’s not the same as the other arm, it’s extremely wide in comparison. This is really demotivating.
I’m on the first arm and this is happening too! I tried crocheting tightly but it’s not helping… just unraveled it and hopefully decreasing will help… damn my comment isn’t helpful but it’s interesting that we have the same issue. I’m so glad your first sleeve turned out nice! When you slip stitched the panels together did you do the same amount of gaps on each side? Maybe try decreasing like i will 😅 ill let you know how it goes, this really sucks
guys make sure you chain a lil more than just shoulder to shoulder. Bc for me It was too small and when I did the first sleeve it was literally choking my armpit and i wouldn't even be able to wear the second sleeve without dying 💀
