How to Crochet CJAYG (continuous join as you go) Large Sunburst Granny Squares Together 

I don't think you'd need to block this, but you certainly could! If you are using a wool or wool blend yarn, you could wet block or steam block the same way you would anything else, you'd just need a large surface and a lot of pins if you make a large blanket! For cotton, steam blocking should work, and you can try steam blocking with acrylic. I have had mixed results with acrylic blocking.

Hi! You can use wool of the Andes superwash in colour white OR put in the search bar “wool of the Andes worsted bare” but keep in mind the bare comes in 100g skeins instead of the 50g skeins! ♥️

For lefties…instead of working right to left across the rows you’ll be working left to right. So start with your top left square from the diagram and join your yarn in the top left corner. Work across the top in the same way I do in the jaygo video -but then down the right side of the square (rather than the left as a right handed individual would). Once you get to the bottom of the square on the right side…join your next square by doing your standing dc stitch into the bottom left hand corner. Work back up the side of the square sl stitching them together….then across the top (from left to right) and down the right side of the square you just joined. Keep going exactly this way until you get to the final (far right) square of your row. Now you have to finish the bottom sides of each square along your row. Do this by work from right to left until you get back to the very first square! Continue on with row 2 etc. Hope this helps!! M

I complete all of mine first. This is my second blanket of hers using this tutorial. You could create enough for a row and join, complete another row, and join etc too.

You can-you just need to increase the cluster stitch by one and then out more chains in between. It tends to end up looking really spacey and messy though… which is why I stop at the round I do ☺️

Hi! It does matter (sort of) if you put 4 or 3-this joining tutorial was specific to the Island time blanket pattern (free on my blog) where I used 4 stitches. That’s where the 4 comes in. I didn’t re-do the main large sunburst because in the written pattern it’s made very clear to use 4 stitches in your square round. If you’re doing regular large sunbursts and you aren’t following the island time blanket pattern it will absolutely work with 3! I’m not sure what you mean-I haven’t chained 2 in any Rolf the corners….unless you’re talking about before I put a standing stitch while joining a new motif? I ch 2 there because it’s really difficult to find a ch 1 when you make the pass back along the bottom of the row.

@@nautikrallcrochet the first circle you make into a square has two chains in the corners but when you are adding the circle and completing the join and corner there’s only one chain between the 4 trebles

I see-yes I find the only chaining 1 is the best fit. Chaining nothing makes my corners too tight, chaining 2 makes them sloppy, chaining 1 gives the perfect amount of room to work while keeping a tidy looking corner.
