Beautiful pattern. I am trying to make this with very fine tencel/merino yarn. I notice that you insert the hook lower than I was taught. (not just below the 'V' shape on top of the previous row, but an opening below that). Can you explain why that is?
@OlgaPoltava
@OlgaPoltava 2 года назад
Good eyes! 👍🏻Yes, when making double crochets, I insert the hook under three loops (not just 2 loops of the 'v' on). I actually mention it quite a lot in my other tutorials. When you make double crochets and insert the hook under two loops of the 'v', you double crochets will be slightly shifted. But if you insert the hook the way I do it, the double crochets will be straightly aligned, one on top of another. In this video, at the beginning of the second row I explain it in detail: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hafAESFPzfQ.html

Hi Sandy, I didn't add any edging. I simply crocheted my shawl until I ran out of yarn (three skeins), then I just fastened off. Maybe it looks that way because it's a different kind of yarn, I honestly don't know 🤷🏻‍♀️
