Beautiful pattern. I am trying to make this with very fine tencel/merino yarn. I notice that you insert the hook lower than I was taught. (not just below the 'V' shape on top of the previous row, but an opening below that). Can you explain why that is?
Good eyes! 👍🏻Yes, when making double crochets, I insert the hook under three loops (not just 2 loops of the 'v' on). I actually mention it quite a lot in my other tutorials. When you make double crochets and insert the hook under two loops of the 'v', you double crochets will be slightly shifted. But if you insert the hook the way I do it, the double crochets will be straightly aligned, one on top of another. In this video, at the beginning of the second row I explain it in detail: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hafAESFPzfQ.html
You are the fourth person I went to in order to learn this stitch. Finally, someone could give complete and accurate instructions in English. Thank you.
Hello Olga! Beautify shawl 😘. I will made one use #3 or #4 yarn. After finish knitting other scarf for Natalia now I am use fingering superwash merino wool 50% and tencel 50% and not easy to work because I am not knitting for long time. Thank you for sharing your tutorial! Hugs from Bakersfield CA. Please stay safe😷😍💖🌷🌹😽
Very clear and close enough to see clearly each stitch thankyou so much. I'm going to make this larger and into a blanket now that I can follow the pattern easily.
Stunning. I think I would cry if I had to go back 5 and 7 rows with mohair. My heart sunk when you said that but it was well worth all your hard work. Absolutely beautiful.
Hi Olga, this is gorgeous, I am finishing my current scarf as gift, gonna make this. But I am using a #1/#2 weight cotton blend yarn, a pale green yarn, hopefully it turns out as gorgeous as this.
I have a few balls of mohair and did start a project that I ended up frogging. And I agree that it is not the easiest yarn to work with. I have stashed them away, but I think I will try this beautiful pattern :)
Wow! I have great respect for your use of the mohair yarn! Fuzzy yarn in general is hard to work with, but mohair is highly recalcitrant! I love the pattern and will find a barely fuzzy wool blend, I think, to use. Thank you for the patience and beautiful work!
You’ve outdone yourself! Absolutely gorgeous work! I have to try it but not sure I can afford the yarn and may have to use something from my stock. 💜🙏💜
I just purchased 4 skeins of Rowan/Kaffe Fassett kid silk/mohair but each skein is only 69 yds. I need 6 more and....its discontinued!🥶😭 Will be on the search! Its what THEY call Garnet color but to me its a smoky amethyst. Love this pattern. You have a beautiful mind Ms. Olga.
Amazing light scarf! I love it. Ive just purchased some mohair to make this in and i will be very careful to make sure i do not make mistakes, thank you for your video on this, I can't wait to start
I'm on my 3rd one using red heart hygge charm. I wish I could post the pictures on here! They are turning out so beautiful. Thank you so much for the tutorial! I posted a link to your pattern on facebook with my finished project 😁
What a beautiful shawl! I feel your pain on the yarn used. I made a similar mistake with another scarf/ shawl pattern, and I almost cried when I found a mistake several rows below. I've been looking for a pattern like this, so I'm so happy that you're sharing with everyone.
Ms Olga what a beautiful shawl , I wish just putting all my attention I’ll be able to do this amazing art . God bless you to share such a beautiful thing. 🌹
Notice you insert hook deeper down to do double crochet rather in top of stitch. I’m use to going into top of stitch. Would it make a big difference to do it that way? Love this pattern. Thank you for it.
i followed 77 chains but ran out of chains for the first row, im sure i skipped no more than2 chains, started over 3 times, ill just change to a different patern
I'm sorry to hear this pattern didn't work out for you. I really wish I could help, but unfortunately without seeing your work in real life, there is no way I can do that. Very sorry :(
@@OlgaPoltava The same thing happened to me and I double checked everything. Would you kindly try to do the first row again to yourself to see if it’s really 77 chains or if there’s something else coming up with the pattern
I have another mohair scarf tutorial on my channel. Also, right now I have some mohair in my stash and I'm thinking of crocheting top-down raglan sleeve sweater with it.
Thanks for the tutorial! How about making it with 2 strands of the mohair yarn together? Would it help with the thickness and difficulty for stitch definition?
You are an amazing artist. I absolutely adore your patterns and your instruction vids are a joy to follow along with. You have nearly single-handedly taught me crochet. I’m currently attempting to make your Lacy Leaves mohair and silk shawl. All I can say is you warned us about giving this project our full attention. That was excellent advice, I sure wish I’d have listened 😬
I didn't really pay attention to what row was the last, I just finished when I ran out of yarn. But it doesn't really matter which row you finish with because the way the pattern goes there will be unfinished leaves no matter what.
Very beautiful 🌹 but how did you put the edging on it. Your finished shawl doesn’t look as wavy as the one you just did.😩 I’m sorry, but could you please show or tell me how to put an edge on it 🙏 Thank you 💕
Hi Sandy, I didn't add any edging. I simply crocheted my shawl until I ran out of yarn (three skeins), then I just fastened off. Maybe it looks that way because it's a different kind of yarn, I honestly don't know 🤷🏻♀️
Would it be a good idea to use another unfuzzy yarn with the mohair? I think it would be easy to correct errors when frogging. Another fine #1 maybe of the same color?
Alright! Will do the same. Thank you so much. You'll be so proud of what I have done when I upload the image. Thanks a million for the beautiful pattern
I didn't block mine. And I never really had any experience blocking mohair, so I'm afraid I can't answer your question. Maybe somebody else will see this comment and give advice.
Hi! I simply fastened off, I didn't do anything for the edging/trim. Perhaps it looks different because I used different yarns for the shawl itself and for the tutorial.
Olga, I am lost as to how to make the stitches after the 7th row. My scarf started to flatten the rows instead of having the peaks and valleys. Can you help? Thanks Viv.
