Oh my! I've looked for a long time to find a pattern for slippers that you only had to slip your feet in. On top of that I don't know how to crochet and the speed and explanations of your video are just perfect for me. You are very patient and I appreciate that so much. Thank you big time for this quality video ;)
Hi Kilee Lopez, For size 10, I would increase just 1 stitch in step 4 and crochet more rounds to fit his foot size. All the rest, I would do the same. Happy crocheting!
I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for explaining all the way through, as I am a beginner. I'm making these in a size 13 as a present for my Dad :) Thanks!
i made these for my husband and he loves them! I actually added a couple things to it, he loves BMW so i put crocheted a little BMW logo on the top, and I added a layer of memory foam attached to the bottom for extra comfort. good luck to those making these, theyre fun to make. :>
Hi, I enjoy your tutorial I've been looking for a man slippers video.I thank you for your time and your efforts . Look forward to more video's.Once again thanks
Hello, I increased the shoe size by adding 2 stitches to Step 1 (so I have a total of 15 stitches by the time I start crocheting in the round), and also 1 extra row in the heel (total 10). How many chain stitches do I need to start with in Step 8 (for the second sole)? Thank you!
I have a question. When complete with these slippers, will it be ok to spray the plasti dip on bottom? Its a grip adhesive for soles of slippers.. ect.. not sure if needing to add soles with this grip.
I would have liked to see more of how you decreased, and less of attaching the sole. Thanks for sharing. Watched it through before attempting, not sure of decreases though. What is the weight of the yarn you are using? That effects the sizing in the sizing. Anyone try this with a chunky wool yarn?...what changes would you make?
+Joanne Sampler Hi Joanne Sampler, After you finish the heel, chain a little bit more than the foot circumference (fullest part). The slippers should not fit snugly, but they should not be too loose also. Then crochet in the round to about 1 inch before end of the toe and begin decreasing without making any intervals. Happy crocheting!
Am I supposed to unravel all my yarn? I really don't wanna have to do that. And I need to make one between sizes 10-11 and another between sizes 12-13. How much do I add on for each and at which step?
Jessica Catalano Hi Jessica Catalano, Thanks for the good question. You may use a thicker yarn instead of doubling the yarns. Yes, you may work the project using a smaller size crochet hook as long as it will give you the right gauge/tension. Happy crochet!
You're not alone. Not at all user friendly pattern to follow. Of course we know to use a hook. She's not specific on size hook or stitching. Says for beginners. People who would be beginners would be lost and perhaps not ever wish to try and learn any further! There are other patterns that are much better and easier to follow. Don't give up. Just find one and go for it. My headache will also go away once I find a better one.
The link you provided in your description takes you to a spam site. And it's hard to get away from that site unless you shut everything down. ALSO causes crashes.
It's a beautiful diy but can I please know which American size is this and how many stitches to increase everywhere for men's size 11.5 please ? any one can help who has made this or know
It is a US 8; she has a written pattern on her website, it's in the description box. Also throughout the comments she's given several tips for increasing sizes. The one I've read the most involves increasing a stitch or two in step 4 of the pattern - and remember there is a written pattern available.
Hi A.N.T2020, You may read my suggestion how to adjust the size on this webpage interunet.com/how-to-crochet-slippers-for-a-man in the comment section. It depends on your gauge. If your gauge are about the same as mine, you may crochet the heel part totally the same as I did. Then add more chains before crocheting in the round. The slippers should fit loosely. Work the two round pattern to end of a pinky toe, then work decrease without intervals. Happy crochet!
I'm so sad 😭 I tried to follow your video, but I screwed up somehow 💔I got the back and part of the arch of the front and somehow ended up at the back. Going to give it another go. I hope I can figure it out. These are exactly what I want to make
+Ivy Hi Ivy, Thanks for the good question. I would advise you to do a gauge swatch. Crocheters may get about the same gauge using different size crochet hooks. It depends on many factors like whether they crochet tightly or loosely.
I have started and restarted again and again. When you say "you should have 9 stitches" I see and count 10. This is at the beginning after the initial 9 chains. Is there a written pattern to go by as well? Please help, thank you. 😄
+Carol Y. Hi Carol Y., Please visit this page interunet.com/how-to-crochet-slippers-for-a-man to find the written instruction. I increased chains from the beginning. I guess that is what you writing about. Happy crochet!
Hi C Harlee, Please visit my webpage interunet.com/how-to-crochet-slippers-for-a-man for more details about the project. After you create 23 chs (step 4), begin crocheting in the round. Happy crochet!
RAVEN SCOTT If your gauge (tension) will be the same as mine, I would not advise to do increases until step 4 (the link to the written instruction you can find in the description). For the 11" foot circumference, I would add about 26 chain sts in step 4 instead of 23 (my example). Then it is necessary to try it on to make sure that the added number of stitches is correct. If not, add 1 or 2 sts more. The slippers should be a little bit loosely on feet. You need also to increase the number of rounds in step 6.
Me too. When you start fl,bl sc I noticed you skipped a st. Also no count of stitches. Backward, confusing , no captions to follow instructions,no rythmn,no rhymn. I watched your right hand. You also need to focus where your camera point.🤔
This says it's for men's slippers. Will it also work for women? Can you tell me how to make these for a ladies size 9wide? And a men's size 11EEE wide?
Hi Nancy, Yes, you can make it for yourself. For the size 9 wide, I would not do anything different, just add one extra round (or as many as necessary) at the very end to fit your foot size. For the size 11, I'd make a longer the chain (step 4). So, instead of making 23 chains, I would create about 24 or 25 depending on his foot circumference. In addition, it is necessary to crochet few more rounds to fit his foot size. Happy crocheting!
Hi Haze Lee, I have a written instruction to the video interunet.com/how-to-crochet-slippers-for-a-man. I'll put on my to-do-list to add subtitles. Happy crochet!
Hard to understand you.. Just a suggestion why don't you use bulky chunky yarn... Now I see why everyone got irritated.. Crochet Crowd has excellent patterns
lillian Neal If you look under Settings, Lillian, i.e., the cog wheel under the movie, you'll see you are allowed to change the speed of RU-vid clips to 1.25, 1.5 or even 2.0 times the standard or default speed. Have fun experimenting! ;0)
This is an odd pattern and an odd way to increase but I'm going to try and hang in there. Very hard to understand the pattern here. EDIT:Can't do it without changing the pattern cause I never seen anything made like this. Sometimes you wrap your yarn over the hook, sometimes under the hook. You just pick a stitch anywhere. Sorry but your stitch count is awful. To secure the ends, turn it inside out for heaven's sake instead of trying to stuff them in a hole, any hole.
