Let's crochet the Poinsettia Doily!
Designer unknown.
With this pattern you will learn to crochet the front post double crochet stitch.
Bonus! At the end of the tutorial I show you how to block this doily!
Recommended crochet hook is size 1.75 mm.
The thread used in the tutorial is Aunt Lydia's crochet thread size 10 available on Amazon: www.amazon.com/...
My doily measures about 12 inches in diameter.

Abbreviations in tutorial:
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
dc = double crochet
R = round
tr = triple crochet
sc = single crochet
fpdc = front post double crochet
dc2tog = double crochet 2 together
fpdc4tog = front post double crochet 4 together

Came out beautifully. Thank you. I also like the fact that there’s no background music, and because the pattern is written as well we have the option to turn the sound off. A great tutorial all round

Thank you. This is the first doily I have made in red and I love it . I had to do the last row in my center colour as I lost at yarn turkey. I also had to remove the picots as they didn't look right.

I dont have the type of hooks you have. I use Boye steel hooks. Should i use the recommended hook according to the thread label? My recommended hook size is 1.65MM which is #7 hook in US size.

Hi, sorry for the delayed reply. 1.65 mm should be fine for this, as I used 1.75 mm hook.

Hi, you could try a bigger size of thread or even lightweight yarn and bigger hook, but I don't have specific recommendations to increase stitches, this would require a lot of experimenting. So I can just recommend experimenting! Happy crocheting!
