My first pair of crochet socks, ever! I usually knit socks but decided I'd choose this pattern because I love HDC'g. I finished 1 sock in about 2 hrs (I was distracted with homeschooling) - - and that's a record because if I were knitting, 2hours in I'd just be on the heel. My foot is a 7.5M, so leading up to the heel, my row counter started at 5 and I stopped after completing 21, then for the leg, my row counter started at 2 and I started the cuff (FPHDC/BPHDC) when the counter was showing 22. The fit is perfect!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the ease and completing the heel was a snap (compared to the mental gymnastics needed when knitting that part of a sock)

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing a pattern and technique that I can actually follow and understand. Other people have made it way more complicated than it needs to be. I think you just explain it better and show it more. Thank you again. I'm getting ready to start my sister a pair of socks. I do like knitting them better, but this I have to try now that I'm not intimidated by the pattern.

what alterations did you use? am trying to make this for my boyfriend (us size 12) but dont know what to change.
@katielicheni9451
@katielicheni9451 3 года назад
@@JeyIrwin I added a row using two hdc in the same stitch at the beginning so there were 20 stitches instead of 10, and then I skipped the row of 3 hdc / 2 hdc same stitch (row 4 I think). After the increasing rounds I had 40 stitches. I did 20 rounds for the length of the foot, and I did 8 rows instead of 4 for the heel. I hope that makes sense!
@drzchick11
@drzchick11 3 года назад
@@katielicheni9451 do you mean you did two hdc in the first round ? My boyfriend is a 11 and I'm trying to get It lol i tried 5 times i keep getting the numbers wrong. And what do you mean u skipped the row of 3
@katielicheni9451
@katielicheni9451 3 года назад
@@drzchick11 I did 10 in the first round just like in the video. I then added an extra round of 2 hdc in each stitch so I had 20 stitches total. Then I just did the same as she does in the video except I skipped her round 4 (which was 3 hdc / 2 hdc same stitch).

Socks have been kind of scary for me as every other tutorial I've watched has been utterly confusing, no shade to the creators, I just need very clear instructions 😂 I had to tweak some of the measurements a bit but this was no issue with this technique. Socks turned out perfect and I probably wont have to buy any winter socks again ❤️

Looking forward to trying this. Thank you! I attempted to knit socks years ago with double pointed needles. Grrr. Didn't get far! I've been mostly crocheting last few years because it's faster and if you need to remove a row because of a mistake it's easy to unravel. I'll have to adjust the sizing but if you break down pattern into the three sections, foot, heel, upper...you can make any sock you want! 🙏
