@@TheNervousKnitter aww thank you you’re so kind!! I will definitely keep that in mind!! Once I master the granny square, I want to put several in different colors into a scarf for my daughter.. she’s 8 and is obsessed with lots of color
I love that you went slow and repeated instructions each row. Finally a tutorial we can follow!! And I love the way you hold your working yarn between two fingers for tension instead of the wrap around pinky and index finger, which I have never been successful with. Excellent video!!! Thank you for making this tutorial.
Hi! 😃 I'm not bored, lol ... I'm brand new to crocheting, and have been wanting to learn to make a granny square. I've watched a bunch of videos, and as you know there are lots of variations, but I like the way you are making yours and LOVE your colors! Yay for Dollar tree!! 🤗 Thanks for being repetitive for us newbies! It definitely helps!! ❤
🌺🌼🌺THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! ... FINALLY, A GRANNY SQUARE THAT MAKES SENSE TO ME... YOUR TUTORIAL WAS FANTASTIC... I UNDERSTAND THE WAY YOU TEACH, SO, KEEP THEM COMING ... 🌺🌼🌺
This Granny Square pattern is by far the best one I have ever used! Granny squares were hot when I was a teenager back in the 60’s, and I made quite a few projects using them. Apparently they are back in style again because my granddaughter asked me if I could make her a Granny Square afghan for her college dorm room. I figured there must have been some changes, improvements and innovations to the pattern over the past 60 years, so I jumped on RU-vid, and sure enough there are plenty of patterns. I tried a few of the channels, (all very good) but THEN!!! Then I found your channel! Your pattern totally eliminates every one of the things I don’t like about Granny Squares: the holes were too large, it was one-sided, the color changes and row transitions were awkward and usually noticeable, and the millions of tails to tuck! It’s a winner in my book! I thank you so much for sharing it!! Also your tutorial is excellent, you are a born teacher. My granddaughter will have her Granny Square afghan🎉🙏🏻💛😄
I' am somewhat of a new crocheter and i've made a few projects before but i've never tried making a granny square with the gifts that i created because of how challanging i thought it was i am so glad i found this video the instructions are clear and very helpful thank you so much for posting this video..❤
❤To make this granny square is a classic work of art, that will be enjoyed for many years to come in my crochet routine. Thank you for your time in helping the crocheting community with your technique. I enjoyed your tutorial as well learned from it. ❤❤❤🧶🧶🧶🪡🪡🤲🧵
Not board at all. I’m crocheting with you. Love that you go over stitches over and over. This is one of the best instructional videos of a granny square. Thank you for giving every detail for the beginners or the ones like myself who pick up crocheting every 6 years.😂
This video was amazing! I’ve tried so many granny squares and failed this is the first time with this tutorial I was able to actually make one! Thank you!!!!
Thank you for such a great tutorial - I really love the idea of knotting when finishing a round - and you make it so easy to change colors - looking forward to the next one!
Thank you so much for sharing. I am brand new to the world of crochet and your videos are the only ones I can follow along with and clearly understand. You explain everything so well! Thanks again!
Thank you for this easy-to-follow granny square tutorial! I am a beginner and your video has helped me finally learn this technique! I've watched many other videos but yours is the best, by far! I'm well on my way to creating my first granny square project! Thanks so much!

I love the way you do your granny’s. In my opinion I like less open spaces. I wasn’t really able to find a favorite way to make my granny squares until your video. Thanks so much lol. I actually purchased some yarn today for a project along w/some xtra yarn. Guess I’ll be making some granny squares that I ❤❤. Gayle. PS -you now have a new subscriber 🧶🧶🧶
This is the best granny square video as you make front and back look equally the same. So much easier to get rid of ends and it’s so clean looking. Thank you for rescuing me from granny squares LOL
Thank you. Your instructions were amazing. I am a complete beginner at Granny Squares and very new to crocheting. After watching several other video's and getting VERY confused...... I stumbled across your video and suddenly I can do them!! I feel very accomplished now, and I love the tighter look too. Many thanks again x
This is the perfect granny square! I won’t even have to block my squares afterward I think. I really like the method you used to get started. It’s much easier than the way I had been originally taught.
Hi from Cornwall, UK. I’m 77, but have problems with trying to keep yarn in tension, but looking at your hand, an easy way! I shall try your way of holding the yarn tomorrow, Video is great!
Thank you so much for this video! Your voice is so very calming! I am 64 and very new to crochet. I was lucky enough to inherit 3 totes of yarn, books, and patterns from my deceased sister in law Gail. I have some of her unfinished projects that are just beautiful. Gails projects and your video have inspired me to crochet. Thank you so much for making it look easy!
Hi Charlotte. Beautiful granny square! I love your color choices. I always turn my granny squares. It makes such a big difference. Thanks for sharing!❤
Thank you for having a plain dark background makes it so easy to see what you are doing! Love your knot method too and you make it it so clear what to do! Bravo!!!🎉❤
This is The best way I have ever seen to do a granny squeeze. Thank you so much. that I would like to see. on how to. do it. continuously in one color. Thank you.
Thank you for this tutorial! I've been experimenting with various methods of crocheting Granny Squares. I really like this more snug (less holey) method, turning to keep the square straight, and especially, the "almost no tails" to weave in. ❤
Great, love the granny square, changing colours awesome, hate sewing ends in, beautiful work. Yea, she’s back. Looking forward to all your videos. 🇨🇦❤️👍
Best tutorial ever!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Steps: 1. Create a knot which will be the center of the granny square 2. Chain 2 3. Create 3 double crochets (1st set) 4. Chain 1 5. Create 3 double crochets (2nd set) 6. Chain 1 7. Create 3 double crochets (3 set) 8. Chain 1 6. Create 3 double crochets (4 set) 7. Find the third double crochet of the first set you made in step 3 and create a half double crochet to complete the gradient 8. Change color and repeat steps 2-7 till the size the granny square you desire Remember to only chain in the corners
THANK YOU!!! I've tried several tutorials and end up chunking my work. This, I can do and have nice corners - including the last corner of each row, I've crocheted for many years but couldn't master the Granny Square, until your tutorial!
Thank you so much!!! I finally got it!! Your video is the only one I could go along with and it actually made sense! You are really good at what you do❤️ I really appreciate your help thank you so much!!!
I've been crocheting a while now (12 yrs now!) but it has been a while since I made a basic granny square. So I began searching for a tut bcs I found out when I started making one a cpl of days ago that I wasn't quite comfortable w/ the ones I was making! 🤔 It turned out that I didn't even have one saved in my Beginner's Crocheting Playlist. How could I have been so neglectful! 😒 In looking through a LOT of vids, I finally found yours, and to find that I was Already a subscriber, well, that was a bit perplexing. In any case, your video tutorial was EXCELLENT. It was as I remembered how to do mine, w/ the one chain gap in the corners & no spaces in between on the sides (you know what I mean). What I had been getting in trouble w/ was how to finish the rounds, whether or not I was changing colors, & WHERE, whether it was on the side or a corner. Sometimes it's those details that make or break what your finished project will look like. AND, finally, you're absolutely RIGHT: you NEED to turn on every round of the Granny Square. Crocheting's stitches have a natural tendency to lean, to either side of whatever side you crochet, left or right hand. When you turn and go in the opposite direction from the one you were previously going, you "neutralize" that leaning of the previous turn. And each turn IN turn neutralizes the previous turn, etc. In the end you will have a perfectly balanced square! 😍
Gorgeous colour combination.❤ I like the look of this granny, it's very compact. Thanks! Update: I just tried it, and you're right, it is easy! I'm a fan.🤩
This is such a helpful video! You’re a genius for figuring out how to change colors without leaving a million ends to tie in and I will be forever grateful!! Do you have a video on how to do this with a 1/2 granny square?
