Not really. The yarn you're carrying is not so much because it's not all being looped into stitches constantly

It's means you added an extra stitch in the row. Check to see where you made the mistake.

What size hook are you using and what yarn? I've tried to do this, but I have more green than what is in your project

I'm using a 4mm hook and a Dk weight yarn cotton/acrylic. Also, check the description box.

When does the red yarn get cut? Does the green yarn ever get cut?

You need the red yarn for making the berries. After you finish making the berries, you no longer need the red. You will need the green yarn throughout. So, no, don't cut the green yarn yarn.
