How to crochet Tunisian entrelac with multi-coloured wool. This blanket used around 2 and a half balls of wool (each ball is 428 metres). It measures around 74cm x 74cm. I will make 4 and join together to make one big blanket. Visit peacedonkeys1..... I have put some photos of the sequence using 2 colours to help visualise how it goes.
Below is a link to some similar wool on Amazon.

I think you teach at a perfect speed for someone like me that is trying to learn how to do this! I have watched probably a half dozen or more on how to do this. I was wondering if this could be done using a variegated yarn and then I stumbled onto this video! Thank you so much for sharing and showing that this can make such a beautifully awesome blanket using variegated yarn!

This is such a beautiful video. First time I've ever experienced ASMR. I literally spaced out for 40 minutes the first time watching it. I was so relaxed and my mind was tingling! I finally started crocheting the second and third time through! Haha. This is wonderful. You have a new fan! ❤️❤️❤️ You really simplified the basics of Tunisian crochet as well, such as keeping your edges smooth, straight, and even. Lol. mine were all over the place but after watching this everything is perfectly crisp. 😍😍😍

How do u make it into a square blanket? This video only shows how to make half a blanket.
@ΙφιγενειαΚουτεντε
Honestly this is the first time I've heard entrelac beginning explained 11stitches times the number if squares you want. Thank you for that, but I'm thinking :does that determine the width of the blanket (or whatever you're making) or the length? I'd like to make cushions that are rectangular and a blanket/ throw for the couch. I hope my question makes sense.

I have watched many videos of this type of stitch. I am a complete novice. Willing to have a go because your instructions are so clear. Are there lots of ways of doing this ? Your demonstration means that squares do not have to be stitched together and your edges are straight ? Is that true of Entrelac. You do not start off with a diamond shape? Hope this make sense ...Maggie

g'day maggie, there are always more than one way to skin a cat!!! I have tried the other way where you start off with a square in the middle, but i personally don't like the way it sits, so i much prefer this way where you just keep going in one long row of squares from bottom right to top left without stopping. If you try a small section of the different methods you have seen, you will find which one best suits you. All the best!

hi patty, no, you just keep repeating the same pattern over and over, starting from the bottom right corner up the the top left. Each row will be shorter than the previous, as you are filling in the spaces, and once you have completed the last single square you will have a large triangle, then turn it around (not over), and join your yarn to the bottom right of your work and start all over again working your way from the bottom right, up the the top left again. All the best! 💕🦄🐴

hi evelyn each little square is around 3.5cm. i have zoomed the camera in so you can see properly instead of looking at a tiny dot on the screen. if you add more stitches, you can make your squares bigger if you want bigger squares. @Peacedonkeys
@Peacedonkeys 4 года назад
hi carol, i don't really understand the question? i'm not sure what you mean by the band? each row, just starts the same as the second row until there are no more gaps. you start at the bottom right hand corner and work your way up diagonally until you reach the last square at the tope left of your work. each row gets shorter and shorter until you only have to fill one single square at the end.
@abbynormal4740
@abbynormal4740 4 года назад
@@Peacedonkeys Thanks for your video. I get that you decrease the number of blocks in each row as you work toward the upper right corner. But how do you work from the center row to the bottom left corner? I didn't catch that part in the video.
@Peacedonkeys
@Peacedonkeys 4 года назад
@@abbynormal4740 hi abby, yes, after you have no more little squares to do, you have one big triangle. just turn the triangle around (not over, or you will be inside out), and join your wool the the bottom right of the long diagonal, and repeat the whole process again. because you are joining to the original starting row, it is a little bit thick, but once you have completed the first row it softens. yes, i realise it seemed obvious to me because i have done it a lot, but it's not obvious when you have never done it before. Sorry for that!!!
@abbynormal4740
@abbynormal4740 4 года назад
@@Peacedonkeys Thanks for the quick reply :-) After thinking about it some more, I figured you would just rotate the triangle around and join to the other edge of the center strip, as you say. Last night I started a blanket with 23 squares. At the end of the last square, I slip stitched loosely along the side edge and worked the next row along the "bottom" edge of center strip. At the end of the row, l slip stitched along the side edge then worked the 2nd row along the top edge of the center row. Now I'm ready to begin joining yarn at the start of each new row (leaving a long enough tail to work the 2nd row of the 1st block so I don't have to weave it in later :-) The edge slip stitches will be covered by a border (maybe a hdc rib) so they won't show. Thanks again for this tutorial! This is my go-to for entrelac blankets now :-)
